Side Note: This is set with Robin's early days as a young hero. Also when the Justice League were still young and new in forming as a team. So, they wouldn't have the watch tower just yet. Hence I'll mention their base as their first base.
Batman wasn't hiding Robin away from the rest of the Justice League. He simply didn't mention his ward or partner to them. Robin has only been joining him on patrol a couple of nights a week for the past two months. It's still early days for the young hero and while the boy was very friendly and sociable, Batman didn't want to spook him with meeting so many curious or stunned heroes at once.
He didn't mention it but he knew Robin was becoming a growing rumour in Gotham and soon enough, the rest of the world will know the young hero's name. In truth next week the boy would be patrolling more nights then not as they've agreed.
But Robin was still a huge fan over superman and had shyly but determined asked if next time Batman was away on a joint mission with the man in blue. If he'd be nice enough to ask for an autograph for him.
Poor Dick was never able to gain an autograph whenever Haly's circus did stop in Metropolis and the man in blue flew around to save the city and world. Dick kept an eye out, saw the hero from a far distance. Mostly noticing a blur of colours floating above the city but had never gained the chance to gain Superman's attention for a hug or autograph if the hero wasn't overly keen on affection.
Batman agreed to gain such an autograph as long as Robin didn't try sneaking out on patrol while he was away from Gotham. He knew the young hero was keen to show he was able to handle himself and prove he's been thriving in his training given to him and wanting a chance to show off his skills.
Hence, after a long and brutal mission. Batman returned to the cave to find an overly excited and star eyed Dick Grayson waiting on him. It was barely 3pm in the afternoon, the sun was still out and Dick was failing to be subtle over waiting to be passed Superman's autograph.
An autograph that Batman forgot about in the middle of the mission. And now felt pure dread at realizing he'd have to break his sunshine of a ward's heart with the news.
A quick glance around the cave reminded him that Alfred would be away on personal leave for another seven days. The aging man taking a personal holiday to England to visit some old friends and would have normally been happy with a mere seven days leave but Bruce insisted on ten days. Leaving three days to be taken up for any travelling needed to do so Alfred could spend a full week with his friends.
Meaning Dick was in Bruce's care for the whole ten days and no one was around to act as the peace offer when they end up upsetting each other. He could feel Alfred's disappointed look aimed at him for failing to gain Superman's autograph after the boy had kept his side of the deal.
Batman wasn't prepared to break both his ward and patrol partner hearts so, he did what Batman always did. He thought on his feet and came up with a whole knew plan while acting as if he had planned it all along.
"Batman? I thought you needed to return to the.. cave. Did you grow a second heartbeat?" Superman spoke up surprised to see the man in Metropolis before freezing up as he noticed a second heartbeat.

FanfictionThis is a oneshot book that'd cover some of the male ships involving Nightwing/Dick Grayson. I won't cover them all and I'll make sure to add the ship name within the title for everyone to click on the ones they prefer.
