Side Note: Bruce never became Batman. He ended up adopting Richard still and the two never became apart of the whole hero/vigilante life. Bruce still runs charities, trying to help Gotham still and runs Wayne Enterprise. Lucius Fox helps, giving Bruce time to spend time with Richard and be a little more hands in on his charities. Wayne Enterprise sponsor the Justice League as well, they help build gadgets, vehicles, the watchtower and help make suits for the heroes secretly. 

It started with a threat. 

A threat directly aimed towards the Wayne's themselves. 

Wayne Enterprise was left alone, for now even as they're the one's with a highly secured floor that was based and only aimed towards helping or inviting needed devices for the Justice League. Those chosen to work on the floor, to invent and repair was specially picked out and tripled checked. But even with their hard work towards helping to build and design needed equipment, costumes or blueprints for the Justice League, only Bruce Wayne knew any Justice League names. His workers only knew the heroes by their hero given name still.

Not many actually knew that Wayne Enterprise sponsored the Justice League and offered out a helping hand to them. It was released publicly since a few of Bruce Wayne's charities was actual based on helping victims out of Gotham related to a Justice League's villain attack or to repair damaged property. 

But not many took in the fact that Wayne Enterprise sponsored them. People overlooked or didn't really look deep into the many business the company sponsored or partnered with. 

Bruce or the company had never happened a problem before. Not a huge one when the owner of the company had decided to call the Justice League for help. It was normal for a Wayne to be hated, kidnapped for a ransom or held at gun point, demanding for someone from the company itself. 

Sometimes the Justice League would come to save Bruce or Richard but it was normally left to Gotham's trusted cops. Both Bruce and Richard new a little bit of self defence but never really used it, not wanting to risk encouraging more dangerous or ruthless criminals to come after them next. 

But the random and concerning threat had Bruce calling for the Justice League within the same day. 

Whoever had sent the letter had purposely used Bruce and Richards' names. Promising great and cruel harm towards them both. The threat was full of hatred and the sender clearly despised them both for some reason. They asked for no ransom, no demands, just promise of such harsh torture and death. 

The Justice League had came, Richard taking a day off from school as Bruce wouldn't allow him to leave the safety of the mansion. The fourteen year old peeking into Bruce's office, staring in awe towards Superman's back. Only leaving when Alfred practically carried him away to leave the adults to talk. 

There wasn't much that the heroes could do to help. They couldn't all stay and move in with the Wayne's. They'd look into the threat, try to find who was after the Wayne household heads. Try to find them first and bring them down. 

But unless the person made an obvious move first or announced who they were. None of the heroes could do anything more then offer to take Bruce and Richard to a safe location. Bruce refused. He had his company and the charities to run, to stop any money from slipping from the rightful accounts and into greedy and tainted hands instead.
