Conner's a clone, we know that. BUT .. and hear me out. What IF he suddenly has that country boy/cowboy accent without even having to be on the farm. He was just blessed with it due to Clark's genes.
And NO ONE knows about it until the accent slips out one fateful day. No warning.
He just has that accent ... no one handles it well for the split second they hear it and take it in.
Now, we all know Dick becomes a detection at some point. But he's gotta be a basic cop first. Meaning he'll have the uniform and belt.
We all know that Dick would look great in uniform.
But once everyone learns over Robin/Nightwing being Dick Grayson.
Would they see him in uniform. Like, meeting up with him after work and he dosen't bother to change or he's needed at the cave/watchtower for something that isn't a mission and he pops in after his shift, still in uniform.
If they BOTH do how those charms.
Would they both secretly think they're "I'm blessed" whenever they hear the accent/see the uniform on.
They would.
But what makes it better is.. Kon would release the accent first by accident.
LONG before he and Dick maybe dates.
And Dick, who is only human after all, just has to fight back that wave of bliss that comes with hearing a certain accent that hits you deep.
Conner having no clue while Dick's/Robin/Nightwing heartbreak skips a beat or his breath hitches whenever the accent is used. He's left clueless because he's learning how to be human but he hasn't ever faced that side of life just yet.
Everyone else understands Dick's suffering and NO ONE helps Conner to understand, helping to protect that part of innocence the clone still has.
Wally or Robin Jason, being the cheeky boys they are and linked to Dick would turn to the clone one day and go .. "You'll understand when you're older" and leave it as that.
Conner learns, not by growing older or anything.
No online research or asking about it.
But Dick knows many languages from his circus travelling days before Bruce taught him more languages since.
And when Dick is REALLY emotional, either angry, furious, overly happy or upset ... he slips into other languages in private.
Conner's super hearing catches it sometimes.
It didn't effect him until Dick slid into his natural Romania accent.
Conner finally understood the power an accent held.
