Bruce knew something was wrong with his date as soon as he saw him in the corner of his eyes as he returned to their table. He seemed tensed, sheepish and walked a little oddly compared to how he left the table. He kept his thighs pushed together as he sat in the chair opposite to Bruce at their table for two in the high class restaurant that filled the top floor of the building. 

Bruce had tried to think over many possible reasons for his fate to be acting as he was. Batman was shoved to the far back of his mind as he knew he couldn't overthink anything or become overly paranoid, not when he's actually been enjoying his date's company. 

The first thought that came to mind was that maybe his date had bumped into someone he knew but didn't like or a few other costumers could have made some unfriendly comments over him as he walked past.  

Their date was a blind date, neither knew who they would be meeting tonight nor what to expert. Bruce was dressed as Brucie while Richard, no.. Dick, was looking stunning in a navy blue lone sleeve shirt, top button undone and collar neatly folded. Black, tight suit trousers and a pair of nice dark almost black suit shoes, most likely the only smart shoes he had actual owned. 

They were both dressed completely differently and with their date location being in a place where only the rich and high class could go .. it wouldn't be surprising if some other costumer had said unpleasant comments towards Dick after spotting him. 

But Dick was a cop, once a detective before returning to being a street cop that did the night shifts. Being one of the few clean cops willing to patrol at night and try to stop the worse crimes or protect the people from the freaks that terrorized the city. 

He was use to people throwing insults and curses towards him. Hearing them while on a date wouldn't leave him acting so .. strangely. 

Something could have been spilled by accident. Dick was nice enough not to make a fuss and live with the embarrassment of a strain while trying to hide it. Maybe he was trying to hide the stain so a worker wouldn't be fired wrongly or Bruce would feel embarrassed over a messy date. 

That seemed possible but he was sure Dick would hint towards leaving early. They had mostly finished and discussing over getting dessert before Dick had left to pop to the toilet. 

Maybe he was unwell. He did only eat half of the lasagne that he had ordered to eat. Something could have ended up upsetting his stomach. Or he was feeling sick before arriving tonight and it's just hitting hard. 

Bruce's been on plenty of dates where he's felt unwell half way or before it even started. Unable to cancel and just relying on getting through the date quickly or asking for Alfred or his children to make up some fake emergency to call him home. 

Dick might not be able to have someone fake an emergency for him to escape with. And he was rather kind hearted and a people pleaser making it seem that he'd force himself to suffer to not ruin any plans for someone else. 

Maybe Dick was unsure or uneasy over trying to end their date early. He was meant to be sitting with Brucie Wayne, Gotham's prince after all. Even though the man who been on the date with Dick has been just Bruce all evening. Bruice has only appeared when they had first met at the agreed spot but Dick had somehow wormed Bruce Wayne out into the spotlight instead.
