Side Note: Corpse Bride is was one of my favourite films since I was a little kid. I'd watch it just as much as I would have watched horror films and Barbie as a kid. Normally I'd AT LEAST watch it during Halloween but this year I missed out on that tradition. And while doing some .. urg, cleaning .. I found the dvd up again. And it got me thinking. Got me wanting to do an AU over it and well, BruDick ship's won out for it.

Heads up, it'd had a few twists to it and won't follow the film completely. So, if you were hoping for a full on Au, don't expect one.

The circus was the only family he had known at the time.

Everyone was so different and held so many different experience in life and yet, they were all loved and cherished by each other.

The circus was a home, for all of them and they had all gathered togehter from all different places in the world just to be preforming as if they were all on body, working different limbs and insides of the body.

The circus was all had ever known and at the time, he loved it more than anything in his life. He still almost do until a new family had stolen his love and left him sharing it between where he stood now and his old life.

He was an acrobat, safety was much different back in this time period and every performer, no matter their talents were seen as freaks for doing what must feared to do or couldn't do themselves.

But Haly's Circus was for those who had only known being a "freak" to find a new home, a family and to be accepted as if they were as ordinary as anyone else they've grown up with.

It was a safe haven for so many and no one was judged by those who lived and worked within the circus.

But other's did not always feel the same, they still feared the unknown and hated it. No matter how far Haly's circus travelled or what performances it showed, people only came to judge the freaks.

A job as a job, earning money meant they all got to eat and survive that little bit longer. Not all of them were happy that most of their earnings came from people wanting to laugh or insult them as they preformed but most ignored such comments or reactions by now.

Haly didn't want that for his family, he wanted their costumers to be wowed, awed and delighted over the unknown, over the chosen few blessed by god to stand out and bring smiles to people faces from their inner childish delight.

But they were all born in the wrong time of history and suffered for it.

When did was eight, he watched his parents fall to their deaths. He had found some strange men hovering by the ropes before the performance but when he told his parents, they had ignored him.

It was normal for whatever town or city they had stopped at to be curious or try to mess with the big top. Most wondered around or tried to leave nasty written words painted around for every circus worker to see and feel hurt from.

His parents had assumed it was just some other no good townsfolk trying to mess or leave some kind of threat or cruel words in hopes to spook them away.
