Jasleena
The knocking was very persistent. I went to the door and asked who was there. "Pretty lady it's me, open the door please. Why are you canceling? What happened? Are you ok?" I sighed deep and leaned my back against the door. "Go away Luka..." I didn't want him to go away. But I didn't know if all he's ever done was lie to me. I didn't know if he had a girlfriend all this time. But he spent so much time with me. I didn't know what to do, what to think, what to say. It was all too much for me and I began to cry. "But why?" I didn't answer. "Jasleena, in all seriousness, can you open the door? Can we talk about whatever it is that's bothering you?" He must have been serious, he called me by my name. "Can you just give a day or two Luka... Please." You could hear the hurt in my voice. "Are you crying Jasleena? You really want me to leave?" He sounded hurt by that. "Please." Was all I said. I heard a bang and a door. I broke out in sobs.
It's been three days since. Luka had texted me multiple times a day, but I never responded. He had come by the house everyday. Around the same time each evening. I miss him. His hugs, his kisses, his comfort. But I'm scared to know the truth. My phone pinged for the fourth time in the last fifteen minutes. Luka. "Lily, where did I go wrong, for you to push me away?" The following one said, "Pretty lady, can you please talk to me? I just want to understand." The next one read, "Can you open this time?" Then the last one, "I miss you, Lily." And there went the tears again.
Another four days have gone by. Meaning an entire week has gone by and I still didn't speak to Luka nor did I respond to his text. I have not seen him in those seven days. I miss him so much. It's like a piece of me had stood with him. I heard the door. Should I have let him in? Should I let him explain himself? The questions just kept going and going. My mind was going crazy. And the one person who usually calms me down, is part of the reason it's going wild. The one light in my darkness has dimmed a bit. Do I check the light and see if it was just a loose bulb. Or do you think the bulb is about to burn out and I get burned? Ping. There was the phone again. "Love, I know you're in there. Please just talk to me. What did I do?"
