Jasleena

Five hours later there I was opening the door to my mothers house. If they asked why I had come I wasn't going to tell them what really happened. I would just say Luka had a meeting and couldn't make the surprise visit. Walking in I could smell my moms cooking. I walked into the kitchen "Honey, dinners almost done." She thought I was my dad. I didn't speak and that made her turn around. "Leena!" She dropped what she was doing and ran towards me. "What are you doing here? You didn't tell me you were visiting. Where's Lukas?" His name alone hurt my heart like a ton of bricks were dropped on it. "He has meetings." Is all I was able to say. "Awe well I'm glad you're here! Good thing I always cook extras." She laughed and continued. "Go get comfortable then come back down." I nodded and headed to my old room.

I decided to finally look at my phone... I had put it on silent because I didn't want to talk to anyone my drive to my parents. I still don't want to speak to Luka. But I still had to check if anyone else texted me. I had fifteen missed calls from Luka. Six voicemails all from him. Twenty seven text messages. Twenty alone were from Luka. The other seven were between my mom and Paola. I by-passed moms text and read Paolas. I sent a quick reply and put the phone down. I didn't even look at all the messages Luka had sent. I just saw the most recent one. "Jasleena please just call me." No Luka. I wasn't ready. I wanted to talk to someone about it but then I did not. I wanted advice but also didn't want anyone to judge Luka. I was so confused. I shook off any negative thoughts and went to the bathroom. I washed and dried my face. I went downstairs to join mom in the kitchen.

Dinner was ok. No one expected me and they were happy to see me. I smiled but deep down I just wanted to hide. I was hurting. My phone began to vibrate. I looked and there was his name. "Is it Luka?" Mom asked, I only nodded. "Go take the call." I shook my head. It's okay I can call after dinner. But I wasn't going to. "I'll just send him a text." But instead of texting him, I texted Paola. "Hey, I'm at moms house. We should have breakfast tomorrow if you aren't busy." I put my phone away.
