Jasleena
I walked to the door as silent as possible. I leaned my head against the door and took deep breaths. Everyone deserves to at least explain themselves. If I gave Jacob the chance to explain, why can't I give that same chance to Luka? With my heart in my stomach I opened the door. The sight broke my heart. He was sitting at my door, elbows at his knees, hands in his head, gripping his hair. When he noticed I had opened, he slowly looked up. And I shattered. He looked drained. Completely drained. As if he has not slept in a few days. He got up quickly and threw himself at me, hugging me as if I have been gone for so long and we've reunited. Looking like this, he made me feel like a complete ass hole. I started walking backwards, to try and get us into the apartment.
Some time later, he pulled away. He sat on my sofa and looked up at me. With such a broken look. "Lily... What did I do?" I walked to my room, grabbed my phone and went back. I sat next to him and went to my photos and looked for the screen shot. I showed it to him. He looked at me questionably. "Someone called me Friday, while I was on my way home from work." I paused trying to keep myself together. "From your phone." He looked at me confused. "Lily, I didn't call you. I was at the office." I showed him the photo again. It was a screenshot of the call and its details. The date, the time and the length of the call. "I answered, and said I was driving. And what was up. There was silence and I was about ready to hang up when someone finally spoke. She said, 'Stay away from him, he's mine.' I dropped my phone and pulled over in shock." A tear went down my face, he wiped it but listened to me. "Being me I quickly thought the worst. I broke again. I thought you had been lying to me all this time. Playing with me and my emotions." More tears had fallen down my face. "Lily, I would never. I promise you, I'm not with anyone. Never really have been. I don't do this girlfriend thing. Because like I told you before, people take advantage of me. Lily, I will find out who that was. Please send me that screen shot so I can look at the cameras." I gave him the phone so he could have done it himself. "My love, I swear to you. I have never lied to you. Never used you. Never played with your feelings or anything like that? Why would I put so much effort and so much time into someone I don't want completely?" He shook his head in disbelief. "I am honestly hurt that you thought I could've done that to you. Like I understand that with everything that has happened to you, you're afraid. But Jasleena I am not Jacob." His entire mood had changed and it made me uncomfortable. He got up and headed towards the door. "Luka..." He ignored me and left. I tried calling his cell but he either shut it off or blocked me specifically.
An hour had gone by since he had just left and I started to get very nervous. I had thought he would've either text me back, called me back, or came back but he did not. So I grabbed my keys and drove to his house. When I got there I didn't see his car. Then I thought of our first night hanging out. The rooftop! I sat there trying to remember the name of the lounge. I didn't remember the direction he had taken the last time. I remembered the name and punched it into the gps. Then I made my way there. When I arrived, the same guy from last time was at the door. "Can you please let me go up to the rooftop. I think that's where Luka is." He looked at me questionably, "Luka?" I sighed, "Yes." I sounded so annoyed but it's because I just really wanted to see Luka already. He nodded and pointed at the stairs. Then, I made my way up.
As I opened the roof door, there he was. My Luka sitting in the same love seat. I walked towards him and sat next to him. He was so far in his thoughts, that he didn't even realize when I had sat right next to him. "Luka, you don't have to speak. I understand you're upset. But I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed. But you know how hard things have been with trust with me. It's hard enough to feel like you have always been too good for me. And when I got that call it broke my heart. I'm sorry I didn't ask you first. But understand that all that kept running through my mind was that I finally was giving you my trust and that broke it. Because Luka. I... Luka..." The tears were just rolling down my face. "I'm falling for you Luka." It was just above a whisper. His head had whipped my direction so fast. "And that phone call broke me. It made me doubt everything. I wanted you to explain. But the broken me kept thinking the worst. I'm so sorry Luka." I lowered my head and silently cried. He cupped my face, and lifted my head. "I love you Jasleena, I have since the moment I laid eyes on you. And that's why this hurt. Because I have always tried to make sure you are good. I will find out who that was. I promise." Then he kissed me.
