Chapter 59.

When Luka woke me up, telling me that Paola wanted to speak. I jumped, because she really needed her best friend. With everything that has happened. I had gotten so dizzy with the speed in which I got up. I breathed in and out and made my way out after Luka reassured me that he'd be here if I needed him. I went out to look for Paola. I found her sitting on the back patio.

I opened the door and stepped out, but Paola didn't even flinch. "Hey..." She still didn't move. I walked towards her and sat on the seat, right next to her. I wrapped my arm around her, in a sideways hug. She leaned her head on my shoulder. "I just don't get why things had to end up this way..." I didn't know what to say because the entire situation was just a lot. I felt like I couldn't just speak about everything without it either hurting her or hurting myself. It was a very sensitive subject. "I'm sorry, Leena. I never meant to hurt you, you know. But at least I stopped this from ever happening to you. I didn't know what to say to that either. I just allowed her to say everything that was on her mind.

"Paola. I'm sorry this is all happening to you." Even with everything that had happened I still wanted her to be one of the first to know my news. No one else will find out until she does. "Paola... there's something I have to tell you." I didn't know how to say it. Because regardless of how it's said I knew it would be a very sensitive topic. "You can tell me anything Leena." She let go and turned towards me. "I just don't want you to push away you know..." She gave me a shocked expression. "There is nothing that can make me push you away, Leena. I almost lost you once and I won't allow that again." She smiled. "Paola... I'm pregnant. I didn't want anyone to know until I told you..." I couldn't look at her. I didn't want to see her reaction because I was scared it wouldn't be a good one. It was quiet for a bit. Then I felt her wrap her arms around me. "I'm so happy for you Leena. I'll be ok." She just held me in that hug for a while. No other words were said. We just stood there hugging each other for a bit. After a while, she pulled away. I knew she was hurting a bit inside but neither one of us spoke on it. She'll speak when she's ready. We went inside and I went looking for Luka.
