About thirty minutes later, he got up. "They should be coming in soon to take you to do the ultrasound." As I nodded, the nurse had walked in with a wheelchair. "Ready to go?" She asked with a smile on her face. I nodded and Luka was quick to assist me on getting off the bed and into the wheelchair. It was a quick ride to the ultrasound room. "Here we are." They assisted me on getting on that bed and we waited for the tech. "Are you excited?" Asked Luka. I smiled at him and nodded. "You?" He nodded. A couple minutes later the tech came. She explained a few things and started. At first we couldn't see much but then there we saw a little sac. She explained that it was still too soon to hear a heartbeat and my obgyn would most likely schedule weekly visits until one is present. I am only about five weeks pregnant according to them. Everything will be confirmed with my obgyn doctor. After everything I was taken back to the room, Luka following. "The doctor should be in shortly to speak with you, before you are discharged." I nodded as I was laying on the bed.

"We are really going to be parents." We both looked at each other at the same time. "Yes we are." We were both smiling. My phone pinged. Mom. "It's mom, she's asking if I'll be discharged." He chuckled. "At least you have an answer for her." He stared at me for a bit. "We're leaving tomorrow. Are you going to tell Paola before we leave or will you tell her on our next visit?" That was a good question. "I'm not sure. Let's see how everything is when we get to my parents." He nodded and we waited for the doctor. A couple minutes later he came into the room. Explained the do and don't about pregnancy. The possible symptoms I can get. And a few other things. Told me to stay hydrated as best as possible. He ended with telling us the nurse was getting all the paperwork ready for discharge.

About two hours later, I was discharged and on our way to my parents house. We were going to go for lunch but mom had texted saying she was making us lunch. It was about to hit noon when we arrived at my parents. "Leena!" Mom came practically running in my direction to hug me. "How are you feeling? You must be hungry. Come I made your lunch." She kept rambling but I lost her. If she was naturally dramatic, imagine how she'll become as my pregnancy continues. Luka is right behind me as we make our way into the kitchen. She made us sandwiches with fries and a big glass of juice. After eating lunch and going up to shower, mom calls us frantic. Scared that something happened to her, everyone in the house ran to the kitchen where she was. "What's wrong Ma?" She was crying. So I knew it was something serious. "He went back. To your Tias house. He got into it with Paola." She paused breathing and wiping her tears. "He found out that she was no longer carrying the baby and began choking her. Yelling at her." The tears were now running down my face. "Your Tia and Tio got there before he could truly harm her. The police have taken him into custody." She's sobbing now. As I stand there in disbelief. I was with a monster...
