Luka held me for a while, he didn't speak. Just held me, even after I had calmed down. "Thank you Luka..." He loosened a bit just to look at me, "What for? I told you I can be here for you, if you'd want me to be." I smiled up at him. "I honestly think we should do this at least once a week. Maybe it'll help you keep your mind busy, you know." I nodded, "Maybe. I can't always promise. Some days are better than others." He nodded in understanding. "But I would love to, on my good days." He chuckled, "Well how about on your bad days you let me know and I'll go over and keep you some company. Even if you go hide in your room. Maybe I can just stay in the living room. I'll be there for support even if you hide from me, cause if you need anything I'll be there. Even if it's just a hug, or even just comfort from afar." Why is he so sweet? "Wouldn't that be boring?" He laughed, "Lily, I don't do much after work. I literally stay in most of the time. On the weekends I would try looking for a new place to visit locally or around the state that isn't too far. I'll go to the bar here and there but that's about it. If I'm in the house already, why not spend it with someone instead of alone. I know I've said this already but I know you're very doubtful right now but I meant it when I said I want to be your friend before anything Lily. I don't care if that's all I'll ever be, as long as I still have you around. You'll find yourself again, you just need a small push. Life gets hard sometimes but you shouldn't spend it alone, you know." The guy definitely had a way with words. He made me want to believe everything will be okay one day. But I was not in any great place to truly believe it. Maybe one day but I sure wasn't seeing it happening any time soon.
We sat there speaking some more. He spoke about himself a bit more. He's a businessman, his family has been running a hotel business for quite some time. He would soon have to step up as his father had told him, he would like to step down by the time Luka turned 25. Luka is currently 22, giving him 3 more years of freedom as he calls it, before he becomes the CEO. I did not expect him to be that big. Having to become CEO of a place was huge. It's pretty cool, I had teased him saying, "Ok my cool friend the CEO in training." And we both were laughing. It was quiet for a bit, "Hey Luka." Hmm was all I heard. "Why would a big-time, soon to be CEO want to be friends with a broken person? When you can be friends with anyone and everyone you'd please? Why even want something more to blossom?" He chuckled. "Well first of all Lily, you stand out. Secondly, you won't be broken forever, I'll make sure of that. And lastly, not everyone is genuine when they find out that my parents run this hotel chain. They begin to get needy or fake a friendship to keep me around. Knowing that money is never a struggle for me. I'll treat anyone if we go out together and sometimes people only stay for that benefit. You didn't know any of that and even if you've been staying away, you never told me to leave you alone. And you don't seem like everyone else. Your soul is pure and that's one of the first things I learned about you. You love hard and care so much. You're an overall beautiful person. In and out and we will find her again." I couldn't hold the tears in and again he just held me. I didn't have to say anything he just somehow understood. The night was definitely one to remember, his company was always great.
