Jasleena

My drive here was uneventful, only stopped once to use the bathroom and have some lunch. Now here I am waiting on Ms. Maggy. I made it five minutes before the scheduled time to meet. So, I'm just parked in front of the address I was given. FIve minutes later I'm standing outside and see an older woman coming my direction. "Hello, I am Ms.Maggy. You must be Miss Miles, am I correct?" I smile, "Yes, I'm Jasleena. Nice to meet you Ms.Maggy." I shook her hand. "Well, come on in sweety." I followed her into the small two bedroom apartment. I wanted a guest room for when I get visitors. I walked through the small apartment and it's perfect for me. And thankfully it isn't too pricey. It's also only 15 minutes from the school I'll be working at. "Thank you so much Ms. Maggy, I'll have you rent every first of the month." I smiled at the older woman. "Thank you, hope you get comfortable quickly." She hands me the keys, smiles and leaves, closing the door behind herself.

I began to grab the few things I did bring with me and brought them in the house. I brought it all into my bedroom and was grateful that I brought my air mattress until my things come in tomorrow. I had a few snacks I brought to the kitchen and decided that I will just order some take out for dinner. I called my parents and let them know I arrived. Then I called Jacob, but he didn't answer his phone. I called Paola after and she didn't answer either. I brushed it off and decided to order chinese. I freshened up while I waited for my food to get here. My food was delivered and I sat on the ground and had my chinese as I watched Netflix on my phone.

It's now 9pm and Jacob has still not called me back. So, I simply sent him a text before heading to do my night routine. "I tried calling you earlier, not sure if you saw that call. I'm heading to bed soon.. I love you." I got up and went to the bathroom to begin my night routine. I came back to my air mattress to get ready to settle down. Grabbed my phone, and saw Jacobs name. "Hey butterfly, I'm sorry I missed your call. I was busy." Then another, "You can call now if you'd like." Then another, "I guess you're asleep. Good night babe. Good luck tomorrow. Call me after your meeting at the school." I just looked at my phone. I text back, "I'm not asleep, so you can call me." But I never got a call. I waited for another thirty minutes, but nothing. Not even a text back. He's acting weird... I brushed it off because again I believed our love was stronger than anything that was thrown our way. I shook my head and went to bed.

I heard my alarm from a far distance, I groaned and went to turn it off. I got myself up and prepared for my hectic day. I made sure to give myself some extra time before the meeting so that I was able to stop and get a coffee and donut to hold me off. I got to the school and had my meeting. I'll be assisting a third grade teacher. I was nervous yet excited to start. I still have a few days before the school year begins.

I get home and call my parents, update them on my meeting and hang up. I facetimed Jacob and that time he actually answered. "Hey babe." He answered. "Hey, I'm just getting home from my meeting." I explained all the details. "That's awesome. Are you excited?" I smile, "Yes, nervous but excited." He looked to the side then back to the screen. "Well babe I have to go. Call me later." Doubt filled me inside but I brushed it off. "Oh ok. I love you." I threw him a kiss. "Me too." And he sends a kiss back, instantly hanging up. Somethings up but do I question it? Or do I wait it out... I questioned myself, but did not want to doubt our relationship. Nor doubt him.

The moving truck came and unloaded everything. They placed everything in the proper rooms. I thanked them, gave them a small tip for all their help, then began to unpack everything. A few hours later my room was completely done, My living room only had a TV and two bean bags for now. Until I order myself some furniture. My parents had given me some money to help me make my home feel and look like a home. I went on my laptop and began searching for some light furniture to hold me off until I can get better ones. After unpacking, organizing and cleaning up, it is now pretty late. I go to my phone and have a missed call from my parents. One from Jacob and a few texts from both of them and Paola as well. I text my parents back and let them know that I was sorry I missed their call and I'll call tomorrow. I read Jacobs text, "Assuming you're settling in since the moving van arrived today. Call me tomorrow. Good night." No I love you... again. I didn't even reply. I then read Paola's text, "Hope you're settling in great. I miss you! Call me when you're free. I want to see your place. Love ya chika." I smiled and went to my bathroom to take a nice warm shower and go to bed. Tomorrow is another day.
