This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
"You know if you're actually pregnant I'm going to kill you right? You're too young for this shit and you'd make a shit mother," Cristina says.
I look at her in disbelief. "not helping Cristina what the hell is wrong with you?" I say.
"I'm just saying... babies suck and they make you suck with all their sucki-ness," she says.
"Shut up, you're the one who still hasn't scheduled an abortion," I say.
"Yes, I have, it's just in a week," she says.
We're sitting in my bed waiting for the test results to come back. I just took a pregnancy test because I think I might be pregnant.
And I'm dating Finn... but the baby can't be his it has to be Derek's.
"What are you going to tell Finn?" She asks.
"Tell him I'm pregnant he'll know it's not his," I say.
"Isn't he going to be mad?" She says.
"For what? He knows I slept with Derek it's not my fault Derek's stupid glow in the dark condoms didn't work," I say.
"Glow in the dark?" She chuckles.
"He did this thing where he would turn off the lights so it was pitch black and then he would watch his dick go in and out of me," I say.
"You're kidding?" She laughs.
"Nope," I smile.
"I wonder if he does that with Addison," I say.
"Oh don't think like that," she says.
"I'm just saying," I shrug.
"He doesn't," she says.
"How do you know?"
"Because one time I ran into them at the store- well I didn't run into them I just happened to be in the same aisle as them and I saw them but regular ones," she says.
"What?!" I exclaim.
"Calm down. If it makes you feel any better he looked at the glow in the dark ones and smiled a bit before grabbing the regular ones," she says.
"He smiled?" I ask smiling a bit.
"Don't get your panties wet, if they're buying condoms it means their having sex which means they could get pregnant like you could be right now," she says.
"Fuck," I curse as she says that.
"They're all in love and crap while you're here alone with a pregnancy test, it's not fair what he did to you. You didn't know and he did, he knew what he was doing and no matter what he chose he wouldn't be alone and you are. He gets to live his rich white people fantasy and be the perfect couple while you're here alone, probably pregnant and going to raise a child alone," she says.
"Yeah," I say quietly looking down into my lap.
"But at least you have Finn. He's waiting to have sex, he's being patient, he's a good guy and you know he's not married because his wife is dead and you also know he won't leave you if you are pregnant," she says.
"Yeah, I guess," I say.
"You have to look on the bright side, you have to move on, he has a wife and you have a boyfriend and if you are pregnant you'll have a baby to focus on. It may not be what you want right now but you'll have to make do with it," she says.
"When you hear about a man having an affair nobody ever talks about how much it hurts to be the mistress, I mean yeah I'm sure she's hurt to be in a way it is kind of her karma, not that she deserves it but..."
"But she deserved it more than you did," she finishes.
"I didn't know, I didn't know and the asshole should have told me, he knew what he's doing, he knew the entire time, he knew that I was going to get hurt and he didn't even care," I say as I feel tears start to burn my eyes.
"I know," she says gently rubbing my back.
"But don't cry more then you already are because I don't know what to do with that and I don't wanna look like an asshole while you're sobbing," she says making me laugh a bit through the tears.
"You'll be fine, you may not think it right now but you'll be fine," she says as I wipe my tears away.
"Okay but what if I am pregnant?" I ask.
"Then get an abortion," she says.
"What if I don't want that?"
"Give it away,"
"What if I don't want that either?" I ask.
"You want to keep it?" She asks.
"Yeah, I guess. Half if this baby is him, it's his blood, it's his DNA," I say.
"It's his sperm and your egg said 'come here' for the pure fun of it," she rolls her eyes.
"If I am pregnant and I keep it I'll always have a piece of him in a way," I say.
She looks at me for a second.
"You sound so snappy and gross right now I might leave," she says.
"Shut up. If I am pregnant the. I'm keeping it," I say.
"Okay now you're just hoping to be pregnant," she says.
"I'm not, If I'm not pregnant then that'll work too, I still have some things that he gave me," I say.
"You mean those dead flowers by the window?"
"No, other things," I roll my eyes.
"This box of glow in the dark condoms," she says throwing them to me.
"Yes," I smile holding the box.
"Being in love makes you smile at condoms like that? Im so glad Burke and I don't have that," she says.
"You two shouldn't be together if you don't have that," I say.
"He doesn't care, I don't care, it works," she says.
"Cardio surgeons are cold," I say.
"That's the fun part. The test should have the results on it by now, go get it," she says.
I get up off the bed and go into the bathroom where the test is flipped over.
