Derek.

Meredith was able to come back home a few days. I'm still trying to keep her in bed because she's still pretty sore.

the only times I let her get up is when she really has to. we've decided to keep Hope in our room for the next few months before putting her in the nursery.

Mallory loves having Hope around. She loves watching her when I'm not in the room or just watching her while she's sleeping.

Miles has his moments where he does and doesn't like her. he doesn't like that he has another sister instead of getting a little brother but he is adjusting to it.

my mother has already met Hope because she was there when we came home but the rest of the family hasn't.

I called all my sisters and told them about her being born and they all wants to fly in to meet her. he scheduled a day for them all to come over and meet her in about a month so we're also settled in.

Mallory's actually pretty happy that we changed the name to Hope from Alice. Mallory only suggested girl names and Miles only picked out boy names.

my mom has been stopping by every day to cook food and help out with the twins while we're either getting some sleep or taking care of the baby.

"Derek, can I go to the bathroom?" Meredith asks as she places sleeping Hope next to her on the bed.

"Sure, do you need help?" she asks as I move to stand up. "No! I can go myself, for once in four days let me pee alone," she says. she carefully gets out of bed and goes into the bathroom.

I watch Hope stir a little. she rubs her fists over her face as she babbles quietly before she falls back asleep.

she scrunches up her legs. I smile and gently rub her stomach with my hand. "Daddy?" I hear Miles say as the door opens slightly.

"Yes, buddy?" I say as he walks into the room and walks into the room. "I still go to soccew?" he asks as he tries to climb onto the bed, but fails.

"Yes, Nana will take you to soccer and she'll take your sister to ballet," I lift him up and place him on my lap.

"No, you take me," he grabs my hand and shakes it. "I would love to take you but I have to stay with your little sister," I kiss the side of his head and tickle his stomach playfully.

"Mama here," he says. "I know but your mom needs help with your sister," I say. "That's big talk coming from you. Yes, Miles your dad will take you to soccer," Meredith says as she comes out of the bathroom.

"Are you sure?" I ask. "Yes, your mom stops by every day in case I need help. I took care of twins and Hope is a pretty easy baby. I'll be fine, I can't take the twins to soccer and ballet and you can so you should," she says as she carefully gets back in bed.

"Alright, I'll take you to soccer," I say. he smiles. I kiss his head. Meredith gently picks up Hope and places her in the bassinet and lays down under the covers.

"Still sore?" I ask softly as I push the hair out of her face. "Yes, peeing makes it worse and I forgot to use the water bottle," she says.

"Mama hurts?" Miles asks. "Yes, having a baby hurts a lot," I tell him. "Mommy hurt when she have me and Mal?" he asks. "Yes, it hurts more when you have two babies. You saw the scar on Mommy's tummy right?" I say. he nods.

"That's where the doctor cut mommy's tummy open and took you and Mallory out," I say. "they cut mama open to get Hopey?" he asks. "Well, no. With Hopey it was a little bit different than with you and Mallory... we'll tell you when you're a bit older, you're still a little young to understand," I say.

"I go to soccew now?" he asks. "Yes. Meredith, will you be okay while I take the twins?" I ask. "Hmm?" she hums in her sleep. "You be okay Mama?" Miles asks. I smile and kiss his head.

"Yes, you and your sister have fun," she says. he climbs off my lap and kisses Meredith's cheek. he sits next to Hope and gently kisses her cheek before getting out of bed and leaving the bedroom.

"We're leaving soon and my mother should be soon, call me if you need anything," I say kissing her cheek.

"Okay, but you should stay for an hour and watch Mallory dance and then spend another hour watching Miles play so you can compliment them afterwards," she says tiredly.

"Okay, I love you. I'll see you in a few hours," I say. "Mm-hmm," she hums before I get out of bed.

"And I'll be back soon to cuddle with you for another two hour hours, I'll miss you the most, I love you so so much," I coo and kiss Hope's cheek before leaving the bedroom.

I close the door behind me and help the twins get dressed into their ballet and soccer clothes. I grab Mallory's dance bag and Miles's soccer bag.

"Daddy, you do my hair?" Mallory asks. "You don't know how to?" I ask her. She shakes her head with a confused look on her face.

the front door opens and my mother walks in. "Ma, do you remember how you did Amelia's hair when she was in ballet?" I ask. "Yes, why?" she asks.

"I'm taking Mallory to ballet and I don't know how to do her hair, Meredith usually does it," I say. "Yes, of course," she says.

once my mother does Mallory's hair, I help the kids into the car and buckle them in. "Are you guys ready?" I say as I start the car and put on my seatbelt.

"Yes!" they both say. "Alright," I say and pull out of the driveway.
