Meredith.

Derek and I have decided to take a little vacation with the kids. We're going to be flying to Italy.

We're not sure how long we'll be there but we've taken work off for the next two weeks.

I'm still a little scared that the plane is going to crash but Derek thinks it'll be just fine.

I'm also scared of taking a baby on a plane because I don't want to be that idiot on the plane with the screaming child who won't shut up.

We haven't packed quite yet but for the twins, I know we have to pack bags for them on the plane.

I know we need to pack, food, water, iPads, headphones, and portable chargers for them.

I usually only let them be on their iPads for a couple of hours a day but on the plane, I'm not going to have three kids whining for something.

If the iPad shuts them up for as long as possible I'm doing it. I need Mallory and Miles to be occupied so I can take care of Hope.

Derek is outside right now watching the twins run around in the yard while holding Hope in his arms.

The twins really enjoy playing on the large playground that Derek built them. It's huge with multiple things for the kids to do.

There are monkey bars, swings, slides, a rock wall, and there's even a baby swing for Hope. Since it's getting warmer out the kids really enjoy spending time out there.

Hope is fed and burped she has a clean diaper, a clean pair of clothes and just got out of the bath so she shouldn't need me for a bit.

Dereks watching the kids so I can start packing all of the kids' things without them trying to pack all their toys into the suitcase.

We've settled on one large suitcase for Mallory and Miles' clothes and a separate medium suitcase for Hope, the breast pump and her other things and Derek and I will both get our own suitcase.

On the plane, we'll be taking my purse, the kids' pack backs and Hopes diaper bag and my large purse.

We're packing the kids' coats in their backpacks and Derek and I will have ours on just in case.

Derek and I both already have suitcases but we've already bought the kids suitcases in advance.

I'm packing twelve outfits for each of the kids but Hope will be getting a few extra pairs, lots and lots of diapers and wipes.

The kids' blankets, some of their toys, two pairs of shoes for each of the twins, an everyday pair and a fancier pair, their toiletries and anything else they might need.

Derek's already packed his suitcase and I've already packed mine.

Once all their suitcases are packed I take them out to the car and I place them all in the pack and the kids' backpacks in the front along with the diaper bag.

I go back into the house and go out into the backyard. I look over at Hope who's lying in Derek's arms.

She locks eyes with me before she starts screaming and crying. "Shh, shh, shh, what's wrong?" Derek says laying her on his chest as he tries to calm her down.

"I think it's my fault, she saw me and started crying," I say. "Are you really that scary?" He says.

"Yes, you're very funny," I say taking Hope from his arms. I lay her on my chest and gently pat her back while swaying from side to side.

"It's okay, it's okay, it's okay," I coo kissing her shoulder as she starts to calm down.

"Perfect, she's already chosen her favourite. I wanted a daddy's girl," he says. "You have Mallory," I chuckle placing my hand on her head and kissing the side of her head.

"I know but I want another one, Miles is a mama's boy," he says. "We have a four-month-old and you're already thinking about having another one?" I say.

"She needs a buddy, Miles and Mallory have each other," he says. "But when they're older Mallory and Hope will always be together," I say.

"Well then Miles needs a buddy, maybe we have another boy, we can't grow up with only sisters. That's traumatic," he says.

"I hardly think growing up with two sisters is traumatic," I chuckle. "No? Take it from someone who grew up with four sisters, it's traumatizing," he says.

"What if we end up with another girl and he ends up growing up with three sisters?" I say. "Then we keep trying until we end up with another boy," he says.

"Honey, I'm not sure I'm that fertile," I say moving to sit in his lap, his hands go around my waist protectively.

"Then you'll take fertility drugs," he says. "Let's see how wild this one is before we decide we're having two more babies," I say.

"She's an angel, we have nothing to worry about when it comes to her," he says smoothing his hand over her soft blonde hair.

"Well have to see when she's older. Things could change.. and we should start dinner. The kids are going to be hungry when they're done playing," I say.

"I'll go get dinner started," he says. He kisses my cheek before standing up and going inside. I sit down in his seat and watch the kids play.
