Meredith.

Derek and I are laid in bed naked after a lot of sex, like a lot. We've been having sex for the past four hours and it's almost morning and we've still not slept.

"It's very pretty," I say looking at the ring on my ring left finger. "Yeah, you like it?" He says stroking my naked body as the covers sit at my waist.

"Yeah... we're going to be too tired to work tomorrow, well today," I say. "Then we take the day off. We can take the kids to my mother's for the day and we can just sleep all day long," he says kissing my temple repeatedly.

"Well, I don't know if that's any better," I giggle. "Why not?" He says. "Because then we'll be up all night, we've ruined our sleep schedule," I say.

"That's fine, we'll blame it on Hope," he says. "We can't blame our three-month-old," I say. We both laugh.

Derek.

"I don't know how to plan a wedding," she says as she leans against my chest as she examines the ring.

"It doesn't have to be big. We'll just invite the twins, Hope, my mother and the sisters you like. Nothing special," he says.

"But it's a wedding, it has to be special," she says. "Just as long as we're married I don't care how it happens," I say.

"But what if you hate it?" She says. "I didn't propose to you for a wedding, I proposed to you because I want to marry you. All you have to do is say 'I do' and that's all I need," I say.

"I don't know if I'm a big puffy white wedding dress kind of bride," she says.

"Put on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt," I say. "It really doesn't matter to you how we get married?" She says.

"No, I don't. I just want to marry you, that's all. We already have three kids, that part of our life we've already done... we moved here for a new start and getting married is what we need," I say.

"I tell people I have three kids I talk about you and they ask me if I'm married and I say no... I hate saying no. Our relationship is too serious for you to just be my girlfriend Mer," I say.

"I know.. we just always seem to be busy. I've never even really thought about it. I-I mean I knew I wanted to marry you, I do want to marry you, it just never really crossed my mind lately," she says.

"Miles and Mallory are old enough, they could be in the wedding, Mallory would be the flower girl and Miles would be the ring bearer," I say.

"And Hope could be with your mother," she says. "There you go, you have our wedding," I say kissing her shoulder.

"You can wear whatever kind of dress you want, you don't have to wear a veil if you don't want to. Just as long as we're married by the end it will all be worth it," I say.

"Okay," she smiles. "We should get to work," I say. "Yeah, we should. Are the kids up?" She says.

"I think so, I can hear the twins arguing in the hallway," I say as we both get up and out of bed.

We quickly get ready but I finish before Mer. I leave the bedroom and find Mallory and Miles playing on the living room floor.

I go into Hope's room and find her still asleep in her crib. I smile softly before closing the door and going into the kitchen.

I grab some things out of the fridge and start breakfast. "Daddy!" I hear Miles run up to me.

"What is it, son?" I say. "Mallory took my car, she won't give it back!" He says.

"Mallory! Give Miles his toy back," I say. "Tattletale!" Mallory says. "Don't take my toys!" Miles says running back into the living room.

"Guys keep it down, your sister is sleeping," I say. "Sorry Daddy," they both say.

I finish making the twins breakfast so I plate it and place it down on the counter. "Mallory, Miles, come eat," I say pouring them each a cup of orange juice.

I see Meredith finished getting ready as she comes out of the bedroom and goes into Hopes's nursery.

While the twins are eating I quickly make my and Meredith's breakfast which is a lot less bland the the kids'

After we all eat breakfast Meredith goes to get Hope as she starts crying. Meredith comes back into the room with Hope and starts feeding her in the living room.

I take the dishes to the sink before getting the twins ready for daycare.

Once all the kids are ready we put our shoes and coats on, Meredith grabs her purse and I grab my keys and we're out of the house.

Mornings are always very hectic in our house. Mallory and Miles are always bickering about something which I take while Meredith is with the baby or vice versa.

After a twenty minutes drive we arrive at the hospital. I grab Hope's carrier while Meredith helps both the twins out.

"I can already feel this work day is going to suck, I better not get assigned your intern or else I'm going to lose it," Meredith says as we walk to the building.

"Miles don't let go of Mommy's hand," she says when he tries to run off. He nods as she holds both kids' hands.

"Why do you always call her my intern? I hate her just as much as you do," I say. "That's not possible. If she tries telling me how to do surgery one more time I'm going to lodge that scalpel in so many places," she says.

"Where Mama?" Mallory asks innocently. "The drawer, the supply closet, or in a box," she smiles down at her.

"Can you take the kids to daycare? I have a patient I need to check on," she says as we enter the building.

"Of course," I say. She kisses the kids and me goodbye before disappearing off into the hallway and I take the kids up to the daycare centre.
