This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
We arrive at the hospital and they take her into the O.R for surgery.
I stand outside of the O.R for a few minutes before I walk away to go wash my blood covered hands.
I wash them and dry them off with a towel. I go to wait in the waiting room when I see Addison.
Shes sitting in the waiting room holding one baby and theres another in the other car seat.
I toss the towel on the floor and walk over to her.
"What the hell addison?" I say.
"We finally have our babies," she smiles looking up at me.
"Yes, yes we do," I say.
I take the baby from her and put it in the carrier.
"What are you doing?" She asks.
"Taking them to get Checked out," I say.
"We should take them to get checked out, make sure theyre okay and everything," I say.
"Ill come with you," she says standing up.
"No, we're going to need formula if we're going to take them to anew York without Meredith knowing. Go to the store and pick up extra somethings as well," I tell her.
"Good idea. Okay I'll be back soon," she says. I nod.
She kisses my cheek before handing me the diaper bag and walks away.
Once she leaves i take both the twins with me. Im walking down the halls as I see Cristina.
"Cristina, Cristina. I Need you to take the twins and take them into an on call room and lock the door behind you, got it?" I say.
"Wha- are these Meredith's?" She asks.
"Yes. Its a long story but Addisons going to come back looking for them and I need you to take them to an on call room, lock the door and take care of them until we have everything under cover, go!" I tell her.
"First, where's Meredith?"
"Surgery. Go," I tell her. She takes the twins and the diaper bag into an on call room.
I go find one of the security guards and tell them the entire story. They nod and go look for Addison.
I go up to the gallery and watch Meredith's surgery.
"You shouldn't be here," I hear Richard say.
"Do you know what happened?" I ask him.
"No," he says.
"It was Addison... she got into Meredith's house, knocked her unconscious and cut her open and removed the babies,"
"Where are the babies now?" He asks.
"They're in an on call room with Cristina, they're fine, Addisons insane but she's still an OBGYN so she knew what to do," I say.
"As Long As theyre okay. Where is Addison now?"
"She went to the store to grab somethings for the baby, she thinks I'm going to New York with her to raise them, it's the only way I could get her out of the hospital," I say.
"That's smart. So what are you going to tell her when she comes back?"
"Nothing. The cops went after her, I told them everything that happened," I say.
"Are you going to be here when she's wakes up?"
"She doesn't want me here," I say. Meredith's already made it clear that she doesn't want me in their lives and I understand why now. At first I didn't entirely but now that I've seen what Addison is capable of i don't want that around them either, even if it means I can't be apart of their lives.
"Derek... you're their father, those are your babies-" he says.
"It's too dangerous! I don't know if Addison will be arrested and knowing her she'll Find a way out of it and we'll still be married and I don't want her around the babies, if I'm somewhere Addison will be there.. it's too risky. She already almost killed Meredith I don't want her anywhere near them," I say.
"So You're Just going to never See your own children Just because you won't get a divorce? I thought you already called your divorce lawyer?"
"I did. But Addison won't budge. She keeps making it harder and harder,"
"So You're Just going to give up? That's it? You're going to give up watching your kids grow up all because of one person? You're really going to let her do that to you... she's already taken so much away from you, you seriously want to let her take that away from you too?" He says.
"Derek, you know Meredith wants you apart of their lives. Just make it work... she made have said some things before but she was pregnant and a lot was going on, you know she wants you to be apart of their lives Derek, you know that," he says.
"Maybe theyre better without me," I say quietly.
"You're an idiot," he says before walking out of the gallery leaving me standing at the window alone.
