This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
I got off the phone with my lawyer a few hours ago. Derek got off of work not too longer ago.
the kids were still in their rooms. Miles hasn't gotten out of bed at all today. he slept most of the day.
I took a small nap because my body felt sore when I was doing the laundry.
I think I caught whatever it is Miles has because I've been feeling a little sick through out the day.
I decided to get out of bed and go check on the twins. I go into Miles room first and see that he's still sleeping.
I check on Mallory and she's just playing on the floor with her toys.
"What are you doing?" I ask Derek as he's sitting in the living room.
"Just checking some emails," he says.
"Do you feel sick at all?" I ask. "No, why?" he asks. "Because I feel sick I think I might have caught it from the twins," I say.
"Why, what hurts?" he asks. "I don't know, my stomach feels.. off and I threw up a couple of times and I felt sick when I woke up from my nap earlier," I say.
"You sound pregnant, do you think it's the flu?" he says. "wait, what did you say?" I ask. "do you think it's the flu, what the kids have, is it the flu?" he says.
"No, before that," I say. "I said you sound like you're pregnant," he says.
"stay here, I'm going to go take a pregnancy test," I stand up and go into my room.

it's now a few hours later and I've already taken the test and everything. Derek said his mother was coming to town and that she wanted to meet me and the twin.
The twins are in their terrible twos and they're not the best when it comes to strangers. Mallory gets a little shy and Miles just isn't very comfortable with any new people.
he told me yesterday that she would be arriving today. the twins have clothes that they're only aloud to wear for special occasions.
I got the kids bathed and did Mallory's hair while Derek did Miles' hair. I never exactly knew how to style hair on a boy so I just improvised. but Derek knows how to do it much better than I do, probably because they have the same hair type.
While I was doing Mallory's hair I noticed she has some blonde highlights coming in. her hair was so jet black when she was a baby so I just figured her hair would always stay so dark.
But Miles' hair has stayed the same. even though Mallory's hair is getting lighter Miles' is still as dark as it was when he was born.
Miles is wearing his nice light blue button up shirt and dress pants with his nice shoes. and Mallory is wearing her favorite black dress with sunflowers on it and her cute little black shoes and white socks to go with it.
Mallory's hair has a natural curl to it so I left it down and put a black headband on her to match her outfit.
Mallory was a little nervous to meet her grandmother but Miles didn't really think too much of it.
once the twins are dressed I give them to Derek who is already ready so I can get dressed. I've already showered and picked out an outfit.
once I'm dressed and done my makeup I get the kids coats and shoes on. I grab my things, get them in the car.
I get in the passenger seat and Derek gets into the drivers seat and drives us to the hospital.
