Meredith

Megan and Nathan argued for maybe thirty minutes before they actually left. I don't think the twins really paid attention to what they were saying which is a good thing because they were talking about a lot of non PG things.

they finished arguing and left. they Nathan tried apologizing but I told him off and he left... turns out he has a son with Megan that they adopted when he was a baby.

I know I probably should be mad, upset, and sad. I was pissed and hurt when I found out Derek was married but I think the only reason why I was with Nathan wasn't because I was in love with him, it was just better than being alone.

he was tolerable and he was good with the twins and he would be an easy person to spend the rest of my life with.

the only thing I'm worried about is how I'm supposed to tell the kids. I know Derek's here but they've known Nathan all their life.

"Mommy Daddy go?" Mallory asks me. "he just went to the lady's house, their friends," I tell her. she nods and I take her empty dishes.

I take Miles empty dishes as well and take them into the kitchen and put them into the sink.

"we stay home today?" Miles asks. "why?" I ask. "I head hurts," he says. I press the back of my hand against his forehead.

"you do feel a little warm, does anything else hurt?" I ask. "my throat hurts too," he says. "Yeah, i'll call in sick today," I kiss his forehead.

"why don't you go lay in bed for a while okay?" I say. he nods and goes into his room.

I grab my phone and call myself in sick so I can stay home and take care of Miles when he needs. Mallory will probably get sick soon too because she's always playing with Miles.

it's a few hours later and Derek went to work a while ago. he wanted to stay home with Miles as well but I told him I could do it and he eventually agreed and went to work.

I have also been feeling a little sick today but it's not the same kind of pain as Miles. he said his head and throat hurts but I feel it in my stomach and I feel a little nauseous.

I haven't thrown up or anything like that but it felt like there was something in my throat. I did the dishes and cleaned the house up a bit.

my phone started ringing. I pick up my phone and see Nathan's name. I answer the phone.

"what do you want Nathan?" I say into the phone.

"Meredith, I'm so so sorry. I'll get a divorce, I'll leave my family here to be with you, I promise," he begs.

"I don't want you to do any of that. I'll be perfectly fine without you. Derek's here and he loves both the kids and I highly doubt he's married again so he can be there for them," I say.

"so just like that? you're leaving me for him?" he says, angry.

"you have a wife, we were never actually together. you proposed to me, we were never going to actually get married because you were already married... you shouldn't start another family if you can even take care of your own," I say.

"I took care of you when nobody else would, when nobody else wanted you, I did you a favor!" he says.

"You didn't have to do that, I would have been perfectly find without you. stay with your wife and son, you still have custody to see the twins so you can see them on the weekends but other than that you should work on your family for a while before you do that. goodbye," I say.

I end the phone call and dial another number.

"Layla Carlson, how can I help you," she says.

"Hi, this is Meredith Grey, I would like to take a man to court and fight for full custody," I say.

"Meredith, I didn't think I'd hear from you again," she says. I hired a lawyer a few years ago when I thought I would have to take Derek and Addison to court but they went back to New York.

"my fiancee, he's the legal father of my twins but I recently found out that he has a wife and another child and I want full custody," I say.

"All right, lets talk," she says.
