Meredith.

we're now back in Seattle a few weeks later. Cristina came over with her son Theo so he and the twins could have a playdate.

Theo and the twins are pretty close in age and Theo never really sees any other kids other than the ones at daycare which he never really showed any interest in.

Cristina and I are sat at the kitchen table while Derek and Burke are in the living room with the kids.

"So, is Burke still talking about having another one?" I ask her. Burke mentioned to that he wants to try for another but he was scared to bring it up to her because she wasn't happy when she found out about Theo.

"Yes, he said got some advice from you. I hardly know what to do when Theo says he's hungry, what am I supposed to do when two of them are hungry? I can't imagine how you're going to do with three," she says.

"Well Miles and Mallory are pretty well behaved, the only one who sometimes has a hard time controlling his anger but other than that they're both pretty good kids... we might have to move into a bigger house in a few years but we'll worry about it then," I say.

"I don't know if I want another one, but every time when we try going to bed he brings it up or he tries getting me to have sex with him... I don't know if I can do another.. the only reason I'm able to do it with Theo is because Burke takes him off my hands a lot of the time,"

"Then tell him you want to stop at one, if you don't think you can do another then don't make it harder on yourself.. one kid is enough for some people," I say.

"It's not for you," she says.

"I've never had one kid.. I'm used to having my hands full," I say.

"Every time I mention one being more than enough he just brings up you and Derek and how if you can handle two babies at once it shouldn't be that hard for us to have two kids a few years apart.. and now that you're having another he just uses that as another excuse," she says.

"Well he should know you and I are very different people, you like being only career driven, I like both... you don't have to do both," I say.

"Well now I do, I have Theo," she says.

"Then don't have another, Derek and I are happy to have another but if you're not then you shouldn't," I say.

"Tell Burke that, not me,"

"Mommy," Mallory says running into the kitchen.

"What is it, Mal?" I place my hand on her arm as she puts her hands on my leg.

"Theo kissed me," she giggles.

"He kissed you?" I smile, running my fingers through her hair. She nods.

"Yeah, on cheek and lips," she says.

"Okay, why don't you go play for a bit okay," I kiss her head. She nods and runs away.

"Our kids are going to get married to each other one day, aren't they?" Cristina says.

"They're two, they hardly know what marriage is," I giggle.

"Whatever... after this one's popped out are you and Derek done or are you going to have another in a couple of years?" She ask.

"I don't know, maybe... it's hard to tell right now, we'll know better in a few years," I say.

"So a fourth is on the table? You're still only a resident," she says.

"Like I said, it all depends on where our lives are in a few years, but at the moment we're stick to three," I say.

"I don't know how you do the whole family thing, derek, the twins, having another," she says.

"It's not that hard, Derek isn't a handful, he helps with the kids and the kids are good, it's not that bad as long as you enjoy it... I can still do what I love and be a surgeon as well as me a mother, its pretty simple," I say.

"Not for me," she shakes her head as she drinks her wine.

"And that's why you and I are two different people, remind Burke of that," I say.

"The kids are starting to get grumpy and Theo wants you Cristina," Derek says as he and Burke walk into the room.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom. Can you get the kids something to eat please?" I say as I stand up.

"Of course," Derek says before I leave the kitchen.
