This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
Nancy came back after she got her husband and it was almost like she could feel my presence because the second she walked in the house so looked at me.
She didn't smile, nor did she glare, she just kind of starred for a few seconds before turning her attention to her kids.
then she came into the living room and she insulted me a few times before she realized we brought the kids with and then she started talking about the kids.
she kind of talked crap about them while sugar coating it and how they were probably going to be like me when I'm older, sleeping with a married man, getting abandoned and pregnant so he could be with his psycho wife in New York.
But then the twins walked in and called me mommy, she then started talking about how much they look like Derek and how they were probably going to be like Derek and be great surgeons when they're older.
"Derek, have you spoken to Addison lately?" Nancy asks, changing the subject.
"No, No, the last I heard of her she was still in prison for attempted murder," he says.
"Speaking of the law, I have to call the lawyer so you can get partial custody of the twins instead of Nathan," I say. I stand up and kiss Derek before taking my phone into the other room to call the lawyer.
Derek.
Meredith kisses me before she leaves the room.
"you still don't have partial custody of the twins?" my mother asks as she comes into the living room and sits down next to Nancy.
"No, when I first came back into the twins lives Meredith wanted to see if she could trust me first and then we kind of got carried away... then we found out about Nathan's wife, the engagement was off and Meredith and I are now back together and Nathan still has custody of them. he also has his own kid with his other wife," I say.
"does he still want to be in their lives? I mean he did raise them for the two years you didn't," she says.
"his wife would have to accept it and I don't think Meredith wants them to meet his other child," I say.
"And in the future the kids probably wouldn't understand why they have two dads when they're only related to one of them... I understand why he would want to but it doesn't really make sense... they wouldn't remember it if he left now and as long as I'm here they don't need him... they haven't seen him since his wife came to the apartment," I say.
"But Meredith doesn't want him to have custody?" My mom asks.
"No, she feels like he was just playing house with her, going back and forth through families and it's not healthy for the kids.. It doesn't really make sense for him to stay," I say.
"And... you and Meredith are expecting again?" she asked. "I heard Mallory mention when you two arrived and the twins were talking about it earlier," she says.
"Yes, we're expecting another in a couple of months," I smile.
"are you sure it's yours and not the other guys?" Nancy asks.
"Yes, I remember the conception, now shut up," I say.
"Are you scared...? you know of doing the actual hard part of being a parent?" Lizzie says as she comes into the living room. so many opinions...
"No, I survived being with Addison for eleven years, I think I'll survive a newborn baby," I scoff.
"I just hope this one looks like Meredith, Miles and Mallory are beautiful but it would be a shame for her beauty not to be passed down to your children... you two make beautiful children," my mother tears up as she looks at the twins playing on the floor with two of Lizzie's kids.
"why are you crying, Mom?" Lizzie says.
"it's nothing, it's just... you two remind me so much of your father's and my relationship.. Miles looks so much like you and Mallory has some of Amelia in her.. it'd be a shame if you two didn't have more children... why do you think you're father and I had so many.. I'm surprised we didn't have more," she smiles.
"Okay, didn't know we were going to hear about mom and dads sex like but okay," Nancy says.
"Thanks, Ma," I smile.
Meredith comes back into the living room.
"How did the phone call with the lawyer go?" I ask her as she sits down next to me.
"Nathan can fight for custody but you are his biological father and as long as you have a good criminal history, we still have a good choice of winning," she says as I wrap my arms around her waist.
"what about court?" I ask.
"it might take a few months before court, you have to sue him for custody if he doesn't want to do it willingly and he might just to piss you off," she says.
"well at least it'll all be worth it," I kiss her head.
