This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
"Seriously? You had to do that?" I say to Addison as she walks up to me.
"Well you are married," she says.
"We're getting a divorce," I say.
"Why? We both know you're going to be coming back to me anyways," she says.
"Go fuck yourself," I say.
"You're going to come back to me when you're lonely," she says.
"I won't have to, two kids will keep me company even if Meredith and I did split up," I say.
"Split up from what? She doesn't want you," she laughs.
"Go to hell Addison," I says before walking away.
**** Meredith
The wedding starts in thirty minutes. Cristina just arrived at the church.
She gets ready and the wedding starts.
We're all now standing at the alter waiting for to walk down the aisle.
"I thought you said she came back to the church," Burke whispers to me.
"she did, she just getting her hair done a few minutes ago, she was dressed, read and everything, she should be here by now. she was literally right behind me before I walked down here," I say.
"Did Cristina tell you anything big recently?" I ask him.
"No, why?"
"Just wondering," I shrug.
minutes later and Cristina still isn't here.
"give me that, go find her," he says taking the flowers from my hand.
I walk down the aisle and walk out of the walk through the doors. I see her standing in the hall.
"what the heck are you standing here? Burke is waiting for you and he sent me out here to come get you," I say.
"I can't do it," she says.
"Do what?" I ask her.
"the baby, marriage, how the fuck do I do this!" she yells the last part.
"Cristina, shut up, let's just get this over with and we can deal wit the rest later. you can tell Burke about the baby and you can discuss adoption, but that's for later, right now you just have to get married, nothing more nothing less, you get married, you two will leave and go on your honeymoon, I will argue with Derek and then when you and Burke get back we can talk more about it," I say.
"Do I have to tell Burke about the baby on the honeymoon?" she asks.
"No, that would ruin, now lets go!" I say grabbing her hand.
"You know mer, I know you hate Derek but I always thought you'd get married before me... but you know what they say, always a bridesmaid never a bride," she says.
"shut up, go," I open the doors.
"You have to go first," she says.
"I already went you're the bride, go," I say.
"But-"
"don't make a scene," I tell her.
"just go," she says.
"ugh, fine," I roll my eyes.
I walk down the aisle again. I stand at the alter and take the flowers from Burke.
she takes a deep breath before she finally walks down the aisle.
"where was she?" Burke asks.
"she was standing in the hall," I say. he nods.
she finally makes it at the alter and looks at me with a huge lace veil covering face. I smile trying not to laugh.
"shut up," she mouths trying to laugh.
I look to the side and put my hand on my mouth before I stop myself from laughing and look back at Cristina and Burke.
they stand in front of each other as the priest starts talking. yes, there's a priest here. Burkes mom found him.
he says everything and then say everything and then they kiss and now they're married.
they walk out of the room and now... I don't know what to do now. I've never been to a wedding or been a bridesmaid.
"What do we do now?" I ask Derek. I'm not trying to talk to him but I don't know who else to ask because Callie and Izzie are already leaving.
"that was the wedding," he heads.
"Obviously," I roll my eyes.
"Can I go now? can I get out of this dress?"
"We can leave once everyone else leaves," he says.
"I have to wait for these people, I don't know anyone in this room," I say.
"Which side is Cristina's family and which is Burkes?"
"not much of Cristina's family came, just her stepdad, mom and a few cousins and Burkes entire family came, they're on that side of the church," I say.
"boys or girls?" he asks.
"Huh?"
"the babies, boys or girls?" he asks.
"one of each," I say.
"and Finn?"
"Out of the picture, he didn't want to be a father, he lied," I say.
"You already know I want to be part of this, right?" he asks.
"Yes, but I won't allow her in my life or there's so as long as your married to her the answer is no, I'm not doing it for me it's for them," I say.
I see people start to stand up. I walk off the alter and leave the church.
