It's alive

3rd POV

The day after bringing the robot home we see the family eating breakfast. 

Dad: "Got any plans today Ruby?"

Ruby: "Not much. Might just watch TV and color."

Mom: "Well your dad and I have work to do today. Your uncle Qrow will be come by every so often to check on you and Yang."

Ruby: "Okay."

Once breakfast is over the parents leave for work. Meanwhile Yang plops down on the living room chair flicking on cartoons. Ruby grabs her robot taking a seat in front of Yang.

Ruby: "What're we watching today?"

Yang: "The Adventures of The Huntsman."

Ruby: "Oooh, I like that one."

She lays on her chest as the show begins. Meanwhile the robot's eyes flicker once again. Later that day their uncle Qrow drops by.

Qrow: "You kids hungry?"

Yang/Ruby: "Yes."

He orders a pizza. When it arrives they all dig in. Qrow then eyes Ruby's latest toy.

Qrow: "Whatcha got there?"

She shows off her new toy.

Ruby: "It's my new toy. Dad found it while he was working. You like it?"

He looks over its rusted and degraded appearance.

Qrow: "Look like it could be cleaned up a little."

Ruby: "Well I think it looks pretty."

Qrow hmms looking at it. The robot's eyes flicker. He does a double take.

Qrow: "Did you see that?"

Ruby: "What?"

Qrow: "Its eyes, they flickered."

She looks into its eyes. She stares for a good while waiting for the mentioned flicker. But it never happens. She laughs going back to eating.

Ruby: "I think you've been sipping on your funny bottle too much uncle Qrow."

He narrows his eyes at the robot.

Qrow: *quietly* "What're you hiding?"

That night Qrow sits on the couch watching TV. He looks at the clock to see it a little past one. He sighs turning off the TV.

Qrow: "I'm so stupid. To think a robot could actually be alive."

He stands up looking at his flask.

Qrow: "Maybe the kid's right. Maybe I have been drinking a little too much."

He smirks putting away his flask. He then heads to bed. But he ceases all movement looking at the floor. His eyes widen seeing what's before him. Only a couple feet in front of him is that robot. And it's wheeling itself around. 

Qrow: "What the fuck?"

It stops looking at Qrow. They engage in a stare down. The robot books it away.

Qrow: "No you don't!!!"

He runs after it snatching it up. He then shakes it violently.

Qrow: "I knew you were alive!!! I fucking knew it!!!"

The lights comes on revealing Tai and Summer in their pajamas.

Tai: "Qrow what in the name of Oum is wrong with you?"

Summer:" It's one in the morning. And you're yelling to the whole neighborhood."

Qrow: "Tai, Summer, listen. This robot. It's alive. I saw its eyes flicker and found it kinda weird. But then it ran away the second I saw it moving. Tell me that doesn't happen."

They sigh as Summer takes the robot out of his hands.

Summer: "I really think you need to lay off the drinking."

Qrow: "But-"

Tai: "It's late. You were probably just imagining things. Get some sleep. I promise you'll feel better."

Qrow: "I'm not crazy, I know the robot's alive."

Summer: "Good night Qrow."

They walk away. Meanwhile Qrow eyes the robot with anger. Then just to taunt him, its eyes flicker. Anger consumes his face as he grits his teeth. 

Qrow: "Just you wait robot. I'm gonna prove you're alive."
