Y/N POV
I ignore the warning force completing the download. I isolate the noise and run it through my systems. My eyes light up as I trace its origins.
Ozpin: "So how're you planning on locating the noise's origins?"
Y/N: "I'm gonna amplify Ironwood's satellites' output. Hopefully by doing this I can better search for the noise's origins."
Ironwood: "Just don't mess with them too much."
I upload the noise into the satellites. I watch it bounce around all over Remnant. After a couple seconds its path is isolated to Atlas.
Y/N: "It came from Atlas."
I watch it continue to bounce. It slows down further isolating its origins. Another couple seconds later it finally settles. I deactivate my eyes looking forward.
Y/N: "It came from the Atlas tundra."
Ozpin: "We have our location. I vote we investigate."
Y/N: "I'll do it."
They look at me.
Ironwood: "You will?"
Y/N: "Yeah."
Ozpin: "What if it's an ambush?"
Y/N: "It won't matter to me. I'll be able to handle it."
Ironwood: "If you think you can. I'll arrange a bullhead."
I nod heading outside the academy. Taking a ride I arrive in the middle of nowhere.
Y/N: "Alright. Time to find the source of the sound."
I trudge through the snow to the source of the noise. After an hour I arrive at an iced over area.
Y/N: "Well, this' where it came from. But there's nothing here."
I look around at my empty surroundings.
Y/N: "So how in the name of Oum did an unknown noise come from here?"
A crack noise is heard.
Y/N: "Please don't let that be what I think it is."
I look down and sure enough see a massive crack forming under me.
Y/N: "Calm down. One of two things will happen."
The crack massively grows bigger.
Y/N: "Crap."
The ice gives way dropping me into a black abyss. I scream when I hit a very hard surface.
Y/N: "Found the ground."
I get to my feet. Looking around I see what I can only describe as a type of lab.
Y/N: "Odd there'd be a lab under here."
I walk around investigating the lab. I spot shattered equipment. I pass by a broken monitor. Touching its screen I get a sense of deja vu.
Y/N: "Why does it feel like I've been here before?"
I think. It then hits me. This' the lab where I used the pillar on my so called father.
Dad: *manifests* "This place really hasn't aged after all these years."
Y/N: "It shouldn't even exist."
Dad: "Oh come on. You don't mean that. This place is your home."
Y/N: "I hate this place."
Dad: "Relax junior. You won't feel that way for long."
I roll my eyes walking away.
Y/N: "Now to find out what caused that noise."
I head to the back of the lab. It's then I come across a single server.
Y/N: "Let's see what secrets you hold."
I jack in my cable. I scan the server's files. I eventually land on its video banks. I scan each one when I come across one that shows a pale white woman.
Y/N: "Salem."
Salem: *on video* "At long last. After all these years I finally found it."
She shifts through some rubble. She stands holding a pillar fragment.
Pillar: "Now to find the other pieces."
I unplug my cable taking in the information.
Y/N: "She has the main pillar fragment. I need to find her."
