Today I had to get the signed excuse. Just why did our school decide to invent such a rule? Aren't you old enough with seventeen to make those decisions yourself?"What's the problem?" Someone spoke up while I dozed off at my locker. The voice was recognisable even though I wished for it not to be.
"Good thing that you know where my locker is, doesn't mean that you should show up here," I shut it close. "You know people might get a wrong impression," I said, beginning to head away, but he was quick to follow me. "What kind of impression?" He questioned cluelessly. "Don't act dumb. Because of you, your girlfriend showed up to tell me I should stay away from you. Worse, she did it in front of the whole restaurant," I explained. "She did?" I swung my bag over my shoulder.
"Are you sad that I didn't show up yesterday?" He suddenly asked, leaving the other topic in the past.
"No, I was glad" I responded. "I found it quite sad. I really wanted to try your homemade noodles, but was too busy." The fact that he didn't seem to mind my daily presence at such place was taking me off guard. As well as on the other hand, his mocking tone sounded way more like he was making fun of me."Why would you want to try at such a place when you can literally have five-star meals at home?" I gave him a judgeful glance. "Because I could meet you there," he simply said. And his words escaped like water though they were heated like fire. He just didn't think twice before talking. "Wow, I can't believe it. What is it you suddenly have with me? Did I send you some sort of signals? Just tell me, because you might be mistaken." I scanned his face in a disgusted manner.
"No, you didn't. I just think you don't seem as boring as the rest of the girls." He nonchalantly commented. "I'm only testing your patience by the fact that I'm rejecting you. So just see this as a sign to please leave me alone." He only chuckled, lowering his head. "What is it?" I questioned irritated. "You know, you really make me not wanna give up. I like people that are hard to get at, I always take challenges."
Ah, I'm some sort of challenge?"Really, I'm telling you, just give up," I repeated myself as he suddenly moved all close to my ear, making me stop my steps right away.
"Come on, I know you enjoy me giving you attention." I was silent for a whole moment before scoffing, "Don't set your hopes high." I waved him off. I might have actually felt an unknown tickling feeling inside my stomach, especially since it came from a guy, it was quite strange. Nevertheless, it was unpleasant._
"Here" as I was about to leave my last class, a paper was held in front of my face from behind.
It said:Good day, Mr. Cho,
unfortunately my daughter was sick from the 10.03 to 15.03, that's why she couldn't attend school.
(Signature)My eyes widened as I turned around to face him. "How..." My voice faded by the end of the word. In other words: I was speechless.
"It helps you, doesn't it? So use it, " he handed it to me."What do you mean? Did you write that?" I sounded more mad than impressed.
"Yeah. It's convincing, isn't it?" He proudly spoke. "Firstly, how the fuck do you know about me not being there and that I needed this? Secondly, my mom doesn't write like that." I handed it back to him, even though he basically copied the signature. "Firstly, I overheard your conversation and I could tell by your posture that you were in trouble. And secondly, do you really think that they check if its really written by the parents?" He was scary, he really was... how does he know all this? Was he already secretly stalking me before I even noticed? "Taerim, about the-" Minho interrupted Mister Cho. "She has it in her hands." Hr took my wrist placing it in them. "Oh Minho, what a surprise to see you with her." He suddenly laid his arm over my shoulder, causing my unknown feelings to basically explode. At the same time, I convinced my brain to simply see it as a state of being uncomfortable.
"Yeah, we are on our way to becoming great friends. Right, Taerim?" I swallowed, not wanting to go further into this topic at all. "That's great. It seems like you get better along with boys." I awkwardly smiled at that comment. What is that even supposed to mean? Regarding to my attitude?
