Poldara's wings dropped as he watched the scene, he felt like he was watching Hatter die rather than a clone, what he said sounded like something the angelic entity would say.

He walked up to Cherry and hugged her from behind to comfort her, then he led her and everyone else to the backyard.

Standing in the lawn were Kiara and Luz, as well as the Aberra. Everyone was surprised to see the guardians here but they were more concerned that Hatter wasn't with them.

"H-Hatter," Poldara simply said.

Mandoria lowered his wings in sadness and looked away. That was all the hint everyone needed as a gasp was heard from Poland and Mandara uttered a quiet "no".

Cherry stared with no emotion at the newcomers, her mouth crisped bitterly into a thin line. She counted and re-counted them as if her eyes have ever deceived her when she glanced at things before. There was sadly no mistaking. Hatter was missing.

She dipped her head to glare down at her socked feet. There were residues of Prussia's goo that stuck to the fabric and certainly weren't ready to be washed off with ease. Prussia.

A shiver ran down her spine.

Screw him. He was gone now...but so were Baxter and Hatter. Her heart pounded like a drum in her chest, threatening to tear itself out of this fleshy prison that was the child's body. It was cold. It was hot. The air outside was suffocating yet froze her lungs. She couldn't resume herself to look up, she simply sniffed.

Kiara was now standing next to her sibling in the backyard of the estate, the ashes were safely transferred into an ebony-colored wooden box with ornaments on its borders. The departed person's name was engraved with a golden outline on the lid. The lady scrupulously hugged it close to her chest, unable to let go of it, as if it would forever disappear too and never be found if she ever did. Luz saw in what state of being Cherry was, so she tried to gently pry the wooden urn away. The twin however pressed it even closer to herself.

-"Come on Kiki give it please let her have- God damnit let it go Kiara I'm serious!" Luz muttered with sadness and light frustration. The other angelic entity half's eye filled with tears. She sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose before changing her tactics.

-"Would you like to give it to the kid yourself?" She asked. Kiara thought about it and halfheartedly strolled toward Cherry's gloomy silhouette.

With a second of doubt, she ended up handing the box to the teen, who accepted it in her arms.

-"I'm sorry about you da-" The angelic entity muttered. Cherry shook her head, gently cradling the precious package.

-"No ... We were just friends ..." Her voice was quivery and she sounded as if she was about to break down any minute from now. "To be honest he...he was more like a brother to me." A lump formed in her throat as she whispered that last part.

Cherry absentmindedly passed her fingertips over the contours of the box to feel the details in the texture.

-"B-But w-why? ... What happened t-this time?" The teenager finally brought up her head, shifting her maudlin gaze from one person to the other among the entities that returned from the land of Limbo.

Kiara turned her head away, incapable of keeping her eye dry. Luz walked over to wrap her arms around her sister. She took a deep breath before starting.

-"Elyss- Hatter I mean ... He had to use his own blood in order to repair the rift and ... he ended up abusing his vital resources. Despite being on his limits, he gave away his magical essence too." She eyed the child as she spoke, carefully formulating her sentence to not trigger and worsen the situation. That's when Kiara decided to butt in.
