-"I've never been at a hospital, how am I supposed to know," Cherry riposted, his voice quivering. "It's not fun to wake up barely remembering where and why you are, feeling horrible, and having a needle stuck in your arm. Then everything comes back to your mind and the thoughts are racing and you can't really stop them and- and-"

The young human's sentences were getting more troubled as the rant went on, his irises switched colors before turning to a dull, expressionless blue.

He shut his eyes and brought his palms to cover them, holding himself from crying as best as he could.

-"I'm sorry ... it's just frustrating to be alive." The teenager muttered, sitting on the bed.

Umbra said nothing, but gently rubbed the child's back to soothe him.

Frankie opened his eyes and squawked before getting out of Akita's soft embrace to go climb onto Poldara's leg as if it was a mountain goat climbing up a cliff. Right after he jumped onto the bed and curled himself on Cherry's lap.

-"What kind of parkour even is this." Umbra asked herself aloud, an unsteady smile plastered on her face.

M:

Poldara felt really bad about Cherry's reaction to his scolding, his wings drooping slightly as he listened to the teen's frustrations. He jumped when Frankie climbed up his leg, thankfully it was his prosthetic leg otherwise he would have been worried about the mammal's venom getting into him.

Poldara then sighed and knelt down next to his friend, "hey, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to speak to you like that, I'm just worried about you and I don't want you accidentally hurting yourself. I'm sorry if I made you feel angry or frustrated, I'm just trying to look after you like I promised Hatter I would."

He gently hugged Cherry, wrapping his wings around him, "I know life is frustrating, everyone in this house got the shitty end of the deal, from watching their dad die, to being mangled and banished, to waging war against their own country and best friend. Yeah, life's not fair, but we have each other to help us through it. I'm sorry that I raised my voice to you, I did it because I care about you and I want to see you get better, do you understand?"

C:

Cherry lowered his arms to return the hug, placing his chin to rest on Poldara's shoulder.

-"I understand. Sorry if I'm complaining too much. There's just nowhere to stock all the frustration anymore, it's too much to keep in, and I can't do much being bed bound so I don't know how to dispose of it. " The teenager admitted.

-"You shouldn't keep it all inside, It's bad for your mental health." Umbra said, "If you ever feel down you should talk about it. If you keep brewing the negative emotions you'll get yourself sick!"

Cherry sighed, a tear rolling down and reaching his chin.

-"I don't want to bother anyone. Everyone has their own burdens and even if they say I can always talk about how I feel, I just can't. Just..cannot."

The teen then stuck out one of his arms to grab onto Umbra's sleeve and tugged onto it, to bring the angelic entity into the hug. Umbra smiled and kindly obliged. Franklin the platypus joined in too and purred, emitting warm hues.

-"You know guys, you're different from the other adults I've met before." The 15-year-old stated.

-"In which way?" The shadow lady raised a brow, intrigued.

-"The other adults, one second they scream and blame you for everything if you do one thing wrong, the very next one they are smiling and it's all sunshine and rainbows. I never got to understand why these changes were so radical." Cherry explained, then gently pet the tri-colored feathers. "It's easier to understand and to adapt with you all."
