76: Down The Rabbit Hole Again

Kiara was lazily floating around and between the library shelves meanwhile, Luz was sprawled in an armchair, she had decided to —finally!— take a nap, or at least she tried to. Barely she had closed her eye to get some rest that her twin hurried to her side to shake her arm in order to get her attention.

-"Luz ,Luz ,Luz ,Luz , Luuuuuz, Luz wake up!" Kiara leaned in and whisper yelled in her sister's ear, earning a groan.

-"What is it ..." The other inquired groggily, patting the entirety of Kiara's face and pushing her so she would no longer invade her personal space.

-"The tingle, didn't you feel it? Lu, seriously, quit snoozing, this is of crucial importance!" The violet-haired girl insisted.

Luz squinted tiredly, her valid eye opened just a silver. She sighed and forced her body to take an upright position.

-"Are you sure it was your magic essence detector? Maybe the boys decided to play with magic or somethin' ... or you have indigestion. Are you feeling alright?"

Kiara's face scrunched in light annoyance.

-"I am perfectly fine! Trust me on this one, something entered the dimension. Right now the signal's weak as fuck but I swear it was freaking powerful for like a split of a second ago ... and, and it's out of the town's borders more like uphill on Mount Triverboa I think, if you close your eyes and concentrate there is a small energy dot that pulsates." The angelic entity halve explained, making wild and fast arm gestures.

Luz cupped her face with her hands and sighed again, then clasped them together to stare back at Kiara. Her twin reminded her of a hyperactive chinchilla that bounced on the spot. There was no way there would be a moment of peace and quiet if she refused to let her sister go and investigate, that's for sure.

-"I get it, you want to go find its source." She grumbled and stood up. "¡Vale, vamonos!"

-"Thank you, you're the best!" Kiara let out a happy squeal and dragged Luz out of the estate's library.

They had entered a corridor, floating because the wooden floor parts creaked intensely as if on purpose. Hearing a sudden crash, they fused together and let themselves drop their feet down to the ground.

-"Wowee, you gotta be more careful mister Sneak 101." Umbra chuckled as another set of arms popped from her sides and she picked up the books and some other stuff to put them back in place. Afterward, she stuck out a hand for Poldara to help him up.

-"Whatcha doin' up so late at night, besides pretending to be a loud poltergeist." The lady asked jokingly.

M:

"It's not my fault," Poldara grumbled in annoyance, "I have nerve damage in my leg and if I use it too much without resting it fucking gives out, don't make this situation more frustrating than it already is."

Poldara wasn't meaning to be rude, this kind of thing happened a lot due to his line of work, it infuriated him and made him feel useless because he usually had to wait for someone to find him or Akita to get help, he hated it.

He sat up and held his leg, even though he couldn't move it he could still feel it, and it always felt like hot knives whenever this happened.

"Listen, I have a pen that I keep in my coat, it helps the nerves reawake and relaxes my muscles, it looks like a yellow EpiPen, go get it, it's in my brown coat," he ordered, the bitterness not leaving his voice.

Umbra arched her brows but complied and went to the main entrance of the mansion where she found the specific brown coat on a wall-mounted coat rack.
