Poldara made sure Cherry was deep into her sleep before he moved, very carefully ungluing her from his side and tucking her into bed, Akita resuming snuggling with the teen when she was comfortably lying down. Poldara just watched her sleep for a bit, thinking about all the trauma she had to go through in just a day and a half. He knew how she felt, maybe not exactly, but he knew the feeling of your whole world falling apart and not being able to do a damn thing about it.

He sighed and left the room, only to return a minute later with a pillow and blanket. He'd be damned if he left Cherry alone after everything that happened, so he was going to camp on the floor and make sure the teen was safe and well while she slept. He also made sure that Chandeler, who was still in hat form, was resting on a pillow so he had a comfortable place to sleep if he decided to turn back.

Once he got his sleeping spot situated, Poldara walked over to the box with Hatter's washed, plucked a feather, raised it to his forehead, and said, "Hatter, I don't know where you are or if you can even hear me, but if you can I want you to know that Cherry will be taken care of. I swear on my wings that I will protect her like a warrior, care for her like a daughter, and love her like a sister. I promise that as long as there is still breath in my lungs that she will never be alone, as well as Umbra, neither will feel forgotten or unloved as long as I live, and I truly hope that wherever you may be, you are able to finally find peace."

Poldara placed his feather on the box and walked back to his spot, he took off his prosthetic and brace and lay his head down on his pillow, falling asleep instantly.

On the other side of the mirror glass, everything was silent yet things were getting violent. The distorted reality in which the boy's bubble floated changed its scenery as odd-looking shadows began to lurk in the darkest corners of the abyss. They chased after the soapy contraption, yet could only circle around it as they weren't in the power to impale it and break through the barrier. Those vile creatures of course did not have the best of intentions.

There was a rumble in the scape as an indistinct voice boomed and echoed through it. The boy's eyes flung open.

Fragments of words, those crystal clear sounds ... it was all so familiar yet he couldn't make out anything of what was said. A prayer ... no, a promise made to the departed as if to appease the wandering, restless soul, or again to acknowledge it of an important thing that is likely to ensue in the living world. All the noise got enhanced as if someone put speakers in a cathedral. The menacing shadowy spirits screeched as they scattered in clouds of dust.

With curiosity, the boy sat up on his knees, hands stretched out to push the vault in an attempt to get out. There was something happening and he wanted to know why. Music notes and syllables bounced endlessly until it all came to a halt.

-"Why does it seem as if someone's calling me-" He mumbled with puzzlement.

Perhaps there was too much pressure. Or perhaps the barrier grew thinner as time went by. There was a slim yet very feasible amount of explanations for it to be so. In any case, it burst with a loud 'POP!', leaving the boy absolutely defenseless in his free fall. The vile creatures appeared once again, ready to strike they dove with hungry demonic screeches onto the entity and whirled through the air at the speed of fast.

'Oh where do we go

Where do we go from here?~'

He never got to hit the floor. Instead, a rabbit hole materialized underneath his feet, swallowing him entirely.

'Oh when do we all just disappear

Oooh, ouuh like ...'

The angered spirits dissolved one by one at the first contact with the dark matter and then there were none. The white abyss was back to its peace and quiet.
