54: Finally Morning

M:

Poldara woke up as the light from his window shone on his face, normally he would feel grumpy about being woken up like that but today he welcomed the light, glad that a new day has come. He sat up and stretched, then whistled for Akita to bring him his brace and prosthetic. Akita, who had come when she learned Poldara went to bed last night, obeyed and brought him his things. He scratched her head and put them on, then proceeded to get ready for the day before heading down to the kitchen to get breakfast for Cherry.

There was a note on the dining-room door, saying that MA and his parents were already at work and he and MC were in charge of watching everyone, including Eclipse who finally succumbed to being soaked to the bone last night and was sick, even though MA was fine. Curious, dubbed back to the living room and saw Eclipse, Cherry, and MC sitting watching TV and eating breakfast.

"Well, looks like I'm late to the party," he chuckled, then looked at MC, "I'm assuming you're the one who let Cherry free?"

"Yup, Doc said he would be fine today so might as well," he said, eating a pancake, "come sit, I made breakfast."

Poldara chuckled and sat on the couch next to his boyfriend, grabbing a plate of pancakes that was waiting for him, two other plates were for Luz and Kiara when they woke up.

"How'd you sleep Cherr," Poldara asked, "sorry I didn't go back last night, I felt it would be better to sleep in my own bed."

C:

Cherry swallowed the pancake he was munching before speaking. He was happy to be released from the IV needle and that he could keep on with daily activities.

-"Frankie moved during the night and nearly suffocated me by curling into a bun right on my face, other than that I slept fine." The teen said as he set down his fork. "How about you? Do you feel better now after a good night's sleep? Also if you need to talk about anything, I'm here for you, okay? I don't want you to be so hard on yourself."

Right after he finished speaking Luz entered the room, she was holding a pile of books on top of which rests a long knitted ... piece of something that dragged for about two more meters behind her. She exhaled loudly and with a tug brought it all inside the living room.

-"Good morning Aunt Lu. "Cherry waved.

-"Top of the morning to you all ... gosh, I took the wrong staircase about two times before remembering how to get down here ..." The angelic entity mumbled and added something incomprehensible under her breath as she sat down in a nearby armchair.

-"What's the knitting for? Are you doing a blanket? Or perhaps many many soft shoes?" Cherry asked, taking another bite of his pancakes.

-"Stress relief. But I envisage making a scarf out of this." Luz sighed and responded with a smile as she began to roll up the exaggeratedly long scarf. "How are you all feeling, and what are the plans for the day? The others are at work I suppose."

M:

"Yeah, Dads left a note," Poldara said, holding it up, "apparently MC and I are the designated babysitters of you all and Kiara, so that should be fun."

"Why are you guys put in charge," Eclipse grumbled, "I'm old enough to be considered all of your guy's granddad."

"And the one sitting across from you is old enough to be considered dead in this world, Eclipse," MC said, "not to mention the fact that you're sick, you ain't getting no special treatment."

Eclipse growled at the other militant but a round of coughing stopped him from doing anything else. He wrapped himself in the blanket he was in and took a sip of the tea he was drinking, though his little tale still twitched in annoyance.
