"If he remembers her," Davenport muttered under his breath.

Eclipse heard him and looked over to the entity lying under a tree, "did you say something Davenport?"

"It's not uncommon for souls to have a memory wiping after death," he said, "most of the ones I collect don't ever remember selling themselves to me, so I'm just saying that Mad Hatter most likely remembers nothing about his life."

The demonic entity resolved to stand up and begrudgingly go back to the edge of the water, "if I may, there still may be a sliver of hope, for you all at least, The Aberra are the guardians of the afterlife, which of course spans all across the multiverse and is known by many names, it is most likely that the kingdom of the great beyond and the soul realm are one and the same. As the guardians have complete jurisdiction and control of the afterlife, they should be able to open the gates, or at the very least know who to contact to open them. Despite my better judgment and the likelihood of getting my tail kicked by Ora, I could deliver our little predicament to them, but I can't promise they would help after the LAST TIME someone tried to raise the dead."

Davenport gave Kiara a disappointed smack on the head with his tail, like when MC says something stupid and Poldara has to knock some sense into him.

Cherry's glassy eyes were lost to the distance as she muttered, clutching firmly to Chandeler :

-"If souls live in many forms, this would mean Hatter's present existence is nothing more but a drop in a pool of other lives he had lived. Insignificant. How stupid of me ... All this time I was scared that I would be the one to forget ... looks like it is much worse than I thought."

Chandeler, who couldn't decide on what was better to be said, simply gave the teenager a comforting hug, something he could now do properly.

Kiara didn't pip a word and her head slightly dipped itself as she accepted the smack. Even that it was obvious she deserved it, the angelic entity shrugged it off, despite the remorse she had blossoming in her deep down.

At that, Arthan Rive narrowed its eyes.

-"First thieving, next thing you know kids nowadays raise the dead..how disappointing of you."

At the faintest smell of mockery in the deity's undertone Kiara's head shot up and she pointed an accusatory finger at the gatekeeper.

-"POT CALLING KETTLE BLACK!" She fumed. Obviously, one smack was not enough to get an unruly immortal mischief-maker to follow the voice of reason. "I ain't the only one here to be snatching stuff! Besides I had different intentions back then."

Soon a heated argument took place. It could have escalated further if a voice hasn't echoed, ceasing the deceit momentarily.

-"Why are the gates closed?"

Arthan Rive and Kiara both stared at the top hat entity whom had spoken at last.

-"According to the codex of inter-dimensional traveling, the gates between universes may be sealed at will, yet the ones which connect a world to the afterlife must be kept open at all times. The only known exceptions come on solstices and in case of an utmost necessary lockdown due to world-threatening circumstances." The man recited from memory. "Thus why is it that the gates are closed?"

The older spirit rubbed their forehead with one paw, was it worth risking and telling the truth?

-"If you're not planning to help us then at least be kind enough to inform us, Floofball." Kiara pressured. Now three pairs of eyes and perhaps, even more, were looking at Arthanasios with great, GREAT expectations.
