55: Lassitude of early daytime

C:

-"As if wearing a skirt, a long-sleeved button-up shirt and a corset isn't normal ..." she grumbled under her breath, but shook it off.

Kiara sighed and chose to disregard MC's comment, taking a seat next to Cherry. She suppressed a yawn.

After hearing Eclipse speak she gave him a stunned look, consternated and unsure if it was a humanly form of basic politeness or if people actually started to  c a r e  about her. Even so, she shrugged and placed the paper stack on her lap.

-"I'm fine I guess ... human diseases don't really affect me. Though I might have a migraine, as per usual. And you, you succumbed to the sickness after all ... I don't know, do you want me to prepare you a herbal mixture or something?"

Luz took a plate of pancakes and handed them to her sibling.

-"Kiara you look even worse than yesterday, did you get any sleep?" She inquired, wondering how did her sister pass the night.

-"mmm, yeah, five." the other angelic entity muttered as she tried to stab the pancakes, yet her hand was trembling too much.

-"Five what? Hours?" Luz asked again, hopeful, yet when the answer came she frowned.

-"Hours?" Kiara barked a rueful laugh "Five minutes! Where do ya think I can pull five goddamn hours of sleep ?! I swear, I ain't doing similar things again. Never again." She shook her head.

-"Why? Oh-" Luz insisted the realization suddenly hit her. "You had nightmares, didn't you." She looked at her other half with sadness and compassion.

Kiara gave no response this time, she simply stared at the food before her with a crisped face.

-"... Never again." She blurted and placed her plate back down.

M:

All the countryhumans looked at each other with understanding in their eyes.

"Welcome to the club then I guess," Poldara muttered, "we all definitely know how you feel."

"I don't think a night goes by without at least one person waking up screaming," Eclipse added, "that's just what happens when you live so long and see so much fucked up stuff."

"We've all learned how to cope with nightmares and still be able to get a decent amount of sleep," MC said, "we can help you out if you want, might make things a little easier."

Before Kiara could answer, a few sniffle noises came from Eclipse and his face scrunched up from feeling a sneeze coming on. Instead of one of his tiny kitten sneezes, the small militant entity sneezed so hard that he not only spilled his tea onto the floor, but also a fireball half the size of Akita shot out of his mouth like he were a dragon.

"Huh, that's new," he said, seemingly unfazed by what happened.

Poldara and MC, on the other hand, were extremely startled, MC was halfway on top of the back of the sofa and Poldara was on a nearby shelf with his wings flared like a scared owl, Akita and Elyss were nowhere to be found.

C:

At the sight of the fireball, Luz jumped back and shrank by reflex, hiding behind the armchair. Cherry had flinched but remained seated on the couch.

The only two who weren't fazed by what happened were Kiara and the pyromantic platypus, which set itself afire and let out a happy aggravated squeal.

-"Bless you." Kiara on her end uttered, and as she said so her iris lit up with a bright heavenly light. A swirl of golden runes twirled around Eclipse's head twice before they melted away, leaving only a faint shimmering of sparkles.
