"That's possible, but I don't know how she could have gotten up here without someone seeing her," Mandara said, but he focused on trying to wake up Cherry, "Cherry, you're sleeping in the hallway far from your bed. Get up so we can take you back."
The country paused to see if the kid would wake up, and when she didn't he tried something else, "Poldara and Hatter are practicing magic downstairs, don't you want to come watch?"
-----
Poldara's face was frozen in shock at Umbra's backstory, that wasn't at all what he was expecting, but he kept his voice calm as he said, "That is pretty brutal, I can't even imagine what that must have felt like." He paused as he said that and let another rueful chuckle escape his lips, "well ... now that I think about it, I guess I kind of can, maybe not exactly but I guess getting your legs crushed in a burning building is as close as I'm going to get."
Poldara smiled and wrapped a wing around Kiara, "I know how traumatic something like that can be, but know that all of that is in the past, those people can't hurt you anymore and you never have to go to that dimension again. You may not believe it, but not everyone is a judgmental asshole, now you have a chance to experience kindness for the first time in your life, and I will give you the push you need,"
"Kiara, I forgive you, for everything, and I hope that we can be friends someday."

Kiara's head jolted up, partially because of the wing, but mostly because of what Poldara had just told her.
The girl's face painted itself with the utmost surprised expression there could have ever been. A new flame was burning in her chest. Hope. She was not alone anymore. She was never returning to that awful dimension.
She was safe.
Away from harm.
With ... friends.
The angelic entity's eye let hot tears leak out. She sniffled, clasping her hands over her mouth.
-"Good Lord -" Kiara softly muttered. "Why are you so nice to me it's crazy ..." She let out a hiccup, eyeing the countryhuman that sat in front of her.
Truth be told, she never had real friends before. All of the people who met Umbra became her inevitable puppets and dolls, and nothing more. However, Kiara was no longer interested in doing such things. All the girl wanted was peace. Peace of mind, the recollection of her tormented soul.
-"I ... I'd ... like to be your friend ... too ... eventually" the female angelic entity managed to utter.
Hatter smiled, it was heartwarming and he felt his eyes sting, ready to fill themselves with water. Chandeler unnoticeably crept closer to the two sitting entities in the living room's corner. He came and bump-hugged Kiara's side, causing himself to get stuck there.
The lady stared down, wiping her tears. The odd embrace didn't make her want to run away, perhaps because the top hat critter was basically more of an object than a person.
-"What is that?" She asked, raising her brow, still sniffling.
-"Affection" Chandeler squealed, which made the corners of the angelic entity's lips slowly curve downside up, letting out a small chuckle.
-"Absolutely Disgusting ... I love it." She said as she had to wipe another flow of tears that escaped her eye.

Cherry scrunched her face, furrowing her brows as she cracked her eyes open, squinting. She sat up, rubbing her tired eyes.
-"Mmm but my platypus is on fire ..." The teen mumbled, frowning.
