Chapter 35

Irene's POV
Time flies, and we already finished filming the music video for our new song. We just kept practicing our dance moves to have a better performance.

Seulgi and I treated each other still the same. At first, I felt awkward around him and, at the same time, embarrassed of what I did. But because he didn't change his treatment towards me, even after what happened between us, I felt comfortable again around him.

And now, I'm excited because I will meet the production team to discuss some matters about my hosting in the broadcasting show.

After manager Sunmi and I arrived at the meeting place, we greeted the people inside, and they greeted us in return.

"Let's just wait for your co-host, Miss Irene, before we start the meeting." The head of the production team said after we sat on one of the chairs there.

I smiled and nodded, "Sure. No problem."

After minutes of waiting, I looked at the door when it opened, and my heart beat fast when I saw the person I wanted to see for a long time.

"I'm sorry I'm late. The shooting place we went to is far away from here." Park Bogum said to the production team. He and his manager bowed to them after.

Yes, that person is Park Bogum. The reason I became an idol. He also looked dumbfounded after he looked at me. I think he didn't expect that we would meet today.

"Do you know each other?" The production team asked after he noticed our reaction.

"We... We---" I didn't finish what Bogum was going to say because, based on what I know of him, he is a person who is very honest.

"We were old friends," I answered quickly.

"Really? That's good to hear, then. You are not going to be awkward towards each other. Mr. Bogum, you can sit now to start our meeting." The head of the production team said.

Bogum nodded and sat down in front of me. And I tried hard to focus on our meeting even though I wanted to talk to him promptly.

We all stood up when the meeting finished after an hour and bowed to each other to say goodbye. The production team was the first one to leave. And when manager Sunmi and I were already in front of the door to leave, Bogum spoke.

"Joohyun noona."

I turned around and looked at him with a small smile. "Yes?" I spoke calmly, even though my system was in chaos.

"Are you busy today?"

I looked at manager Sunmi because I don't know if I have other schedules today. She seemed to read my mind and answered for me. "She's not. She only has practice this afternoon."

Bogum nodded to manager Sunmi and looked at me again. "Can we talk? Just the two of us?" He asked with a pleading face.

I looked at manager Sunmi again. "Can we?" I whispered to her.

Manager Sunmi nodded. "Sure. I'll wait for you in the car."

I smiled, "Thank you." After our managers left us, Bogum walked towards me and held my hands. But I pulled it away from him. "Just talk," I said with a frown.

"I'm... I'm sorry." He said while looking down.

"Is that all you want to say after all these years?"

He shook his head immediately and looked at me. "No. I wanted to explain everything."

"Go ahead. I'm all ears."

He took a deep breath before he spoke. "After I passed the audition, the company forced me to delete all my accounts. And I lied to them that I don't have a girlfriend because I know they will tell me to break up with you. But they also forced me to change my number to make sure I had no connection with anyone other than my parents. I don't have any other choice but to do it because that is one of the things stated in the contract I signed. It's also in the contract that I couldn't date anyone for the first five years of my career. So, I didn't go to your house because my manager is always there wherever I go. And when I already had my new account and was about to message you, I couldn't see your account anymore." I deleted my accounts after I got tired of waiting for his message after months that he didn't contact me. "And when I was free from the dating ban, I went to your house, but you were not there anymore. Your neighbor told me you already left three years ago that time." My family and I moved near the SG company after I passed the audition so it wouldn't be difficult for me to go home and to be close to where Mom works. "And after years, I was surprised when I saw you on television as an idol. I was happy for you back then and wanted to message you to your account, but I was afraid you would only ignore me because you might be mad at me. So, I just waited for the right time that we would meet each other again, and I think now is the right time."

I scoffed in disbelief. "I couldn't believe that I waited for so long for a coward man."

He looked at me apologetically. He stepped closer to me and hugged me. "I'm sorry for being a coward and waiting for me for so long." He said softly.

I hugged him back and closed my eyes. I sighed in contentment. "I missed you, Bogum-ah."

His hug tightened, "I missed you too, noona."

I was the first to break from our hug after remembering manager Sunmi. "Let's go. Our managers are waiting for us."

He pouted, "But I wanted to be with you all day, noona. I wanted to catch up on the time we're not together."

I laughed softly, "It's your fault. If you only didn't choose to be a coward, then we will have plenty of time to be with each other."

He raised his hands, "Alright, it's my fault. But let me embrace you for a moment." He said and hugged me again. "I really missed you. And my love for you didn't change. I love you, noona."

I smiled and hugged him back. "I love you too."
