Seulgi's POV
I took a deep breath when I was in front of our house before knocking on the door.I'm here because it's already winter break, but Mom and Yeji still haven't talked to me. I'm nervous right now because they might still mad at me.
I sighed heavily and knocked on the door again when no one opened it after a minute.
"Coming!" My heart beat fast when I heard Mom's voice.
I looked at the door when it opened and saw Mom's shocked face. "Mom," I mumbled. I went to her and hugged her. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for lying to you and Yeji. I'm sorry for raising my voice to you. I'm sorry, Mom." I said sincerely.
She hugged me back. "Shh... It's okay. I already understand you. Your dad already told us what happened. I didn't know that you sacrificed that much for your dad. I'm sorry for what I said and for not letting you explain. I'm sorry, Seulgi." I gently caressed my Mom's back when I heard her sniff and when I felt cold on my shoulder where her face was. "I thought you were still mad at us until now. I was afraid that you might not talk to us anymore."
"I can't do that, Mom. I'm only waiting for you to talk to me because you might only ignore me if I do it first. But I came here today because I love you so much that I couldn't bear not talking to you anymore." I said softly.
She pulled away from me and hit my arm lightly. "I went to your condo the day after what happened at your grandparents' house, but you didn't open the door for me!" She said sullenly.
I frowned. "You went there?" I asked while wiping the tears from her cheeks. Mom nodded. "Then, why don't you just enter my condo? You know the passcode, right?"
I remembered I had a fever at that time and... Oh! Maybe she was the one who rang the doorbell that I thought was just a dream!
"Because I thought you were still mad at us at that time. So, I didn't try to ent---" She was interrupted when someone spoke.
"Hon, lunch is re---"
My eyes widened when I looked behind Mom. "Dad?!"
Dad also looked surprised but immediately smiled when he saw we looked okay now. "Long time no see, buddy."
I frowned, "You didn't tell me you live here now, Dad. How long have you been here?" I asked while walking towards him.
I messaged Dad after I left my grandparents' house that Mom and Yeji already knew about his situation, but he didn't respond or call me.
I didn't get a chance to visit him at Uncle's house after the last time I went there because I was too busy after that day. But every time I ask Uncle and Auntie how Dad is doing because I don't get an answer from Dad, they always say that he is fine.
"The day your mom and sister found out about my cancer." He smiled awkwardly. "When you messaged me that they already knew, I came here and told them everything. And I'm sorry for not responding to you, buddy. I felt guilty because you kept asking me if I was okay even though I was the reason why your Mom and Yeji got angry with you."
I smiled, "No need to apologize, Dad. It's not your fault, anyway. It was just a misunderstanding."
He looked relieved at what I said and smiled widely. "Come here. Give me a hug, buddy. I missed you." He said while spreading his arms.
I chuckled and hugged him. "I missed you too, Dad." We pulled away after. "Anyway, why do Uncle Soo-geun and Auntie Hee-kyung say you're okay when you're not at their house anymore?" I asked confusedly.
"They told me that you asked about me, and they asked what they would say. So, I told them to answer you that I'm okay, so you don't have to worry about me, and I'm indeed okay."
