Chapter 24

Irene's POV
"Are you okay?"

I was sitting at the corner far away from the others during our break in practice when I heard Seulgi's voice.

I looked in front of me where he was standing right now. I sighed and nodded. "I'm just thinking of something."

He sat beside me on the floor. "Share it."

After our talk on the rooftop, I felt more comfortable with Seulgi and kept telling my problem to him. Seulgi is doing the same, so I'm aware that his dad is losing hope of fighting for his life.

I sighed again and put my head on his shoulder. "I just can't understand the agency and Jaekyoon oppa. They kept declining most of the time when there was an offer for me in acting, hosting, and other opportunities that I wanted to do. They said those offers were not suitable for me. And even yesterday, they rejected the offer for me to be cast in a variety show because they said it's a comedy show. Am I that boring person? I can also be funny." I pulled away and looked at Seulgi when I heard him chuckle. "Yah. Why are you laughing at me?" I asked in irritation.

"Because you're not a boring person?" I rolled my eyes at his answer and looked away. "Stop overthinking, my woman. Just believe that there's always perfect timing and opportunity for each of us. So cheer up and wait for the perfect time."

"How long do I keep waiting?"

"For the opportunity or him?"

I looked at him with wide eyes and hit his arm lightly. "Yah. They might hear you!" I whispered-shouted.

He laughed, "They can't. They're far away from us. Anyway, I'm curious about something."

I frowned, "What is it?"

"What if you saw, you know, him one day? What will you do? Will you slap him? Get mad? Or hug him because of missing him so much?"

I laughed softly at what he said in the latter part, "Truthfully, I don't know how I will react if we meet again. But I won't be mad at him because I know he has a reason why he hasn't contacted me until now."

"Then, maybe, you would hug him?"

I laughed again. "Why would I hug him? I think it will be awkward if I see him again."

"Yah. That's enough for dating. It's time to practice again." Wendy said, who was walking towards us and stopped in front of us. She lends her hand for me to help me get up. I think she didn't hear what we were talking about.

"Are you jealous, my best friend? I am willing to date you too, if you want." Seulgi said as he stood up and winked at Wendy.

"Okay. I won't refuse it. Let's date in Japan." Wendy said and smiled widely.

"Just make sure no one will kill me after that." Seulgi laughed after he said that and walked away from us.

I saw Wendy looking at Seulgi with wide eyes. "What does he mean by that?" I asked her in bafflement.

She looked at me and laughed awkwardly. "He's just... Uhmm... He's just teasing me again because he thought I had a boyfriend." She answered and immediately left me. She went to Seulgi and hit his arm hard, but Seulgi just laughed at her.

After our practice, my members and I went to the restaurant we used to eat with Blackvelvet members. When we entered the private room we reserved, they were already there and talking to each other.

"Hello, unnies!" Yeri greeted them cheerfully, which they also greeted in return.

"How's the practice?" Jennie asked after we sat down.

"It's exhausting. But tomorrow is our rest day because we will prepare for our things to bring in Japan, and the afternoon is our departure." Joy answered.

"Please bring something for us from Japan, girls," Lisa said with a cute smile.

"No problem," Wendy said.

"Yes!" Lisa said while her fist was in the air.

"Let's eat first, guys. The foods are getting cold." Rosé said. We nodded and started to eat.

"What have you been up to, girls?" I asked the Blackvelvet members while we were eating.

"We are just taking rest until this month's end. And after that, we will shoot our reality show for a whole month in Thailand." Jisoo answered.

"And I am looking forward to seeing my family again," Lisa said excitedly.

"Bring something for us too when you come here from Thailand, unnies," Yeri said.

"Sure. But that's not for free." Jisoo said and laughed.

"Ahh unnie~. That's unfair. We will give you for free, but yours are not?" Yeri whined.

"Giving is not expecting something in return, Yeri-ya," Jisoo said with a smirk to tease Yeri.

Yeri pouted. "That's what you called exchange gift, unnie."

"Don't worry, Yeri. I'll give you something for free because I'm rich, pretty, and working in YM Entertainment." Jennie bragged.

"There's no connection at what you said, Jennie," I said, then rolled my eyes.

Jennie laughed. "I know. I just wanted to show off."

"When is your comeback?" Jisoo asked, not minding Jennie's craziness.

"Don't say it to anyone, okay?" Joy made sure first, and they nodded. "It's the first week of May. What about you?"

"We don't know yet. Our manager said it's either July or August." Jennie answered.

I looked at Rosé, who was just silent the whole time. I smiled when I saw her busy eating her food and only joined our conversation after she finished eating.

"Let's play a game!" Rosé said after she drank water.

"What game?" Lisa interestedly asked.

Rosé shrugged, "Whatever you want."

"Let's play spin the bottle. If someone didn't answer the question, she needed to drink a glass of soju." Lisa proposed after thinking for a while.

"We don't have soju here," Wendy said.

"Then let's order," Joy said and pressed the button that would call the waiter.

Later on, we ordered ten bottles of soju when the waiter arrived. "That's a few drinks," Yeri complained after the waiter left.

"Yah. We still need to prepare tomorrow, and they are not with their manager tonight." I said, referring to Blackvelvet.

"But their apartment is a walking distance from here." Yeri countered.

"Really, Yeri-ya? Do you want us to be trending tomorrow?" Jisoo asked sarcastically.

"Then ride with us. Dohwan oppa and Sunmi unnie are with us, waiting outside." Yeri said.

"Yah. Do you think one van is enough for all of us?" Wendy asked in disbelief.

Yeri sighed in defeat. "Okay, I won't insist anymore."

After a moment, the waiter arrived with our drinks, and we started the game after the waiter left.

Yeri spun the bottle after she emptied it by putting it in our drinking glass. We laughed at Yeri when the bottle pointed at her.

"Okay, Yeri. Who is your least favorite unnie in Blackvelvet members, and why?" Joy asked with a smirk.
