Chapter 62

Irene's POV
"In-youp hyung said, It's not illegal unless we get caught."

"Does Seulgi know that you did that to Bogum?" Dad asked.

In-hyuk shook his head, "He doesn't, Dad. In-youp hyung knew that he would stop us from doing that. Only me and In-youp hyung knew about it, not until tonight. And I hope you don't tell anyone about this."

"How come Seulgi wasn't rude to Bogum earlier? If I were in his position, I would tell the truth to the family of the person I like while Bogum is still there." Dad said with a trace of amazement on his face.

"It's because of Joohyun. Joohyun's happiness is the one that matters to Gomi." Mom said with a smile and raised her hand after. "Team Seulgi."

They laughed like they understood what Mom said. I frowned, "What do you mean by team Seulgi?"

"Secret!" They all said and laughed again. Am I the only one who is still sane in our family?

I was about to stand up to leave when Dad called me. "Joohyun."

I looked at him, "Yes, Dad?"

"Do you like Seulgi?"

I was taken aback by his question, "What... What kind of question is that, Dad?" I asked in astonishment.

"Just answer me."

"I don't, Dad. You know I love Bogum, right?" I said with a frown.

"Do you really love him, noona, or it's just what you think because you used to love him before?" In-hyuk asked as if he didn't believe what I said.

"What do you want to point out?" I asked in annoyance.

"I've been watching you earlier, noona. You look like you have feelings for Seulgi hyung. I want you to realize this yourself, but I think it will take a long time before you realize it. I hope it's not too late for you to admit to yourself your true feelings for him." He stood up. "I'm going to tuck myself in, guys. I still have work tomorrow. Goodnight." He said and left us.

"Me too," Soo-bin said before she stood up and looked at me. "Take your time, unnie. And if you realize that you no longer have feelings for Bogum oppa, break up with him immediately. I'm worried about your safety." She said and left too.

I looked at Mom, who held my hand resting on my thigh. She gave me a warm smile, "If you don't have feelings for either Seulgi or Bogum, talk to him properly and tell him the truth. That way, he can move on from you and find the one for him."

I smiled, "Okay, mom. Thank you."

Dad stood up and helped Mom up. "We're going to nod off now, Joohyun. Just be careful with the decisions you make, okay? Goodnight." He said and gave me a fatherly smile.

I smiled back, "Good night, Dad. Good night, Mom."

"Good night." Mom said before they walked away from me.

I rested for a while and thought about what we talked about. Then, I decided to go upstairs and go to the room where Seulgi was now sleeping after I grabbed a glass of water and hangover medicine.

It was dim inside when I entered his room because the only light on was the bedside lamp, but I could still see him.

I put the glass and medicine on the bedside table before I carefully sat at the edge of the bed beside him and looked at his sleeping face. I carefully held his cheek and gently rubbed my thumb over it. "Seulgi," I said softly. "I'm sorry for what I did and said to you. I really regret that. And I felt guilty to know that you sacrificed yourself just for my happiness." I said sincerely, even though he was asleep and didn't hear what I was saying.

I was about to remove my hand when he moved and held my hand on his cheek. "Joohyuna?" He mumbled while looking at me with half-open eyes.

"Yeah. It's me. Did I wake you up?"

"Can I hug you? Even if it's just a dream." So, he thought it was just a dream?

I smiled at him, "Sure." I said, and I was the one who hugged him first with my eyes closed. I smelled the alcohol mixed with his scent and felt his topless body.

"I miss you, my woman." He said in a low voice while hugging me.

I felt my heart beat fast when I heard what he said. "I miss you too, Seulgi." I also miss how you call me like that. And it hurts every time you act like you don't know me.

"I like you. I only realized it the day before I saw your boyfriend kiss you." He saw that?! "It hurts. Do you know that? And it also hurts me to see you with him." He said with a hint of pain in his voice. "Do you know I'm trying to be better than your boyfriend? That way, I might have a chance for you to like me back. But I failed earlier." He sighed. "It's been a while since I stopped drinking alcohol, but I couldn't say no to your dad earlier because he might be sad on his birthday if no one would drink with him."

I smiled at what he said. "You don't have to change yourself for me."

"Because I have no chance with you? If so, do I have to move on with you now?"

I felt a sharp tingling in my heart at his latter question. Why didn't I realize I had feelings for him when I hadn't hurt him yet? You're an idiot, Joohyun.

"No, don't do that. Just give me some time to fix this, okay?" I spoke softly.

"I also don't think I can move on from you instantly, even if I try."

"Don't you dare try, Seulgi. I won't forgive you, even myself."

He hummed, "Okay, my woman."

I smiled, "Good."

We just kept hugging each other in silence when he spoke again, "Can I ask a favor?"

I frowned, "What is it?"

"Can you not look at me like you don't want to see me every time we meet?"

"I'm not looking at you like that."

"You are." I was just jealous. Stupid!

"Okay. I'll try." I'll try not to be jealous.

"Thank you." He sighed in contentment and hugged me tightly. "I hope I never wake up anymore."

I laughed softly and moved away from him when his hands fell on the bed because he fell asleep again. I looked at his face before I dropped my gaze to his lips. I sighed. I want to kiss you but I can't yet. I still have a boyfriend.

After looking at him for minutes, I decided to leave and sleep in my room.
