Chapter 41

Seulgi's POV
"Where's Joohyuna?" I asked the Redpink members after I gave them the flowers.

"In the dressing room. She was changing clothes for her lunch meeting with the production team of this music show." Wendy answered.

I nodded, "Okay. Thank you."

I walked towards their dressing room and planned to leave this flower outside the door.

When I was in front of the door, I put the flower on the ground and was about to leave when I heard Joohyuna's voice. "What are you doing here? Have you taken your medicine?"

The door was ajar, so I peeked inside and saw Bogum walking towards her.

"I'll just take it now," Bogum said.

He held Joohyuna's cheek and kissed her lips. She seemed like she didn't expect that, but soon, she kissed him back.

I bit my lips when I felt a burning pain in my chest. I quietly stepped back and carefully closed the door so no one else could see them. After that, I walked away from that room.

Irene's POV
I was the first to break away from our kiss when I remembered the time Seulgi and I kissed on the rooftop.

What's wrong with me? Am I cheating on Bogum by thinking that?

"Let's stop before someone sees us," I made an excuse.

Bogum looked at the door. "It's close." He looked at me again and was about to kiss me when I pushed him gently on his chest.

"Yah. We need to be careful." I saw him wince when I pushed him. "Does your body still hurt?" I asked in worried.

He nodded, "Yeah. We filmed a fight scene last night, and I didn't do a body double, so my body hurts now."

I touched his forehead, "And you have a fever. Do you have a shooting later?" He nodded. "Just take a leave and rest. It will get worse if you push yourself. You shouldn't come here today if you're not feeling well."

He smiled, "I don't want to let my girlfriend host the show alone."

I shook my head at what he said, "Let's go. You should take your medicine now."

"I already took it, remember?" He looked at me playfully.

I rolled my eyes, "The real one, Bogum-ah."

He laughed, "Okay, ma'am." He said and saluted at me. "Go out first. Someone might see us if we leave this room together. I will follow you after minutes."

I nodded and walked towards the door. I opened the door and left the room before I closed it again. I was about to walk away when I stopped on my track and saw a violet tulip on the floor. I took it and saw 'For My Woman' written on the stem.

I immediately put the flower in my handbag so Bogum wouldn't see it. Was Seulgi here earlier?

After that, I started walking in the hallway. I just looked in front of me when I heard noises.

I saw the Groovy dance crew walking in my direction. My eyes automatically searched for Seulgi and saw him behind them, who was also looking at me, which made my heart skip a beat.

I bowed to his team when they bowed at me, and I was about to pass by Seulgi when he held my wrist and made me face him.

"Give me a second." He said softly before removing something from my lips with his thumb. I think I have a smudge on my lips! What the hell! You're not being cautious, Joohyun!

I slightly turned my head in the hallway when someone walked behind me, and I was surprised when I saw that it was Bogum.

Seulgi didn't seem to notice him because he was busy removing the smudge. His lips parted a little in surprise when I pushed his hand away from me.

"I told you not to come near me, right?" I whispered to him in irritation. I felt remorse when I saw the pain in Seulgi's eyes because of what I did and said.

What's wrong with me?! I am mad at myself because I remember the day we were on the rooftop when he was also removing the smudge from my face, and I unintentionally poured my frustration out on Seulgi. I am also mad at myself for worrying that Seulgi would think Bogum and I kissed, which is true!

Seulgi looked around and saw Bogum walking away. He looked down after, "I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."

I sighed, "Why don't you just listen to me? We agreed on this, right?

"Do you... Do you really want me to stay away from you?" He asked in a low voice.

"Yes, I do!" I said annoyingly, not to him but to myself.

"Do you want me to act like we're strangers?" He asked again and looked at me.

I nodded, "It will be helpful if you do that."

He nodded slowly and smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes, "Okay, Miss Irene." He said formally and bowed at me before he left me.

I wanted to chase Seulgi, but I should follow Bogum because I think that's the right thing to do as his girlfriend. So, I decided to go to Bogum, which was already far away.

Seulgi's POV
I was on the rooftop of the SG building doing my session after our practice when I checked on my phone.

I noticed someone sent a message to me and saw it was In-youp hyung. "Seulgi, I'm sorry. Dad told me that he mentioned to Auntie what happened to you after he found out this morning. And she was now on the way to your condo when I asked Dad."

I looked at the time he messaged me, and it was three hours ago. "Oh, shit!" I mumbled and quickly finished my session before I went to the parking area and drove my motor toward my condo.

When I arrived at the basement parking on my condo building, as I presumed, I saw Mom's car already there. Maybe she was already inside my condo. She and Yeji knew the passcode of my unit.

And I was right because when I opened my unit's door and went to the living area after removing my shoes in the entryway, I saw Mom sitting on the couch. She looked at me when she noticed my presence and immediately stood up. She briskly walks towards me with worry on her face.

She touched my face, which had wounds and bruises that were still in the healing process. "Does it hurt?"

I nodded and hugged her tightly. "It does, Mom. Why does it have to be so painful like this?" My voice broke at the latter sentence. Why does it hurt to like her?

My tears automatically fell when I felt Mom's hand gently caressing my back. I release all the pain inside I suppressed earlier by letting myself cry on Mom's shoulder while feeling her comfort.

"Have you eaten? I cooked something for you." Mom softly spoke when she felt that I already calmed down.

I sniffed and took a deep breath before pulling away from our hug. "I haven't, Mom."

She wiped the tears from my cheeks before she looked at me and smiled. "Let's eat, then."

I nodded, and we went to the dining area, where the table was ready. We sat down and started to eat.

We were silently eating when I decided to break the ice. "Will you going to stay here for long, Mom?"

She shook her head and swallowed the food before answering. "I will also leave tomorrow morning."

"Can you wait for me, Mom? I will only finish our performance tomorrow morning, and then we can go home after."

"Oh. Is it your off tomorrow?"

"No, mom. I just wanted to take a rest."

Mom nodded, "Okay. I'll wait for you then."
