Future AU

—————————

The sun was setting over the city as Bakugou made his way to the hospital. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had settled over him ever since he got the call from Kirishima's agency.

They had told him that his husband had been badly injured in a villain attack, and that they had to amputate his leg to save his life. Katsuki had never felt so helpless before. He had always been the one to protect Ejirou, but now he was powerless to stop this from happening.

As he walked through the sterile halls of the hospital, Bakugou couldn't help but feel like everything was moving in slow motion. He could hear the beeping of machines and the sound of doctors and nurses rushing around, but it all felt distant and muffled. The only thing that mattered was getting to Kirishima.

When he finally arrived at Ejirou's room, Bakugou felt like his heart had stopped. His husband was lying in the bed, hooked up to all sorts of machines and IVs. His face was pale and drawn, and Bakugou could see the pain etched in every line of his body.

"Ejirou," Bakugou said, his voice rough with emotion. "I'm here."

The males eyes flickered open at the sound of his voice, and he managed a weak smile. "Kat," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry."

Bakugou shook his head fiercely. "Don't apologize. You didn't do anything wrong."

Ejirou sighed. "I feel like I let you down. I was supposed to be your partner, and now im useless"

Bakugou took his husband's hand in his own and squeezed it tightly. "You are not useless," he said firmly. "We're partners, remember? We're in this together, no matter what."

Kirishima's eyes filled with tears, and Katsuki could see the fear and uncertainty in them. He knew that his husband was strong, but even the strongest people needed help sometimes.

Over the next few months, Bakugou stayed by Kirishima's side as he went through physical therapy and adjusted to life without his legs. There were good days and bad days, moments of progress and moments of frustration. But through it all, Bakugou never left Kirishima's side.

There were times when Kirishima would get angry and lash out, or times when he would break down and cry. But Bakugou was always there, steady and unwavering, offering support and encouragement.

"You're doing great," Bakugou said, as Kirishima struggled to walk on his prosthetic legs. "I'm proud of you."

The red head was walking on his leg with no support for the first time in months, of course he was wobbling, but Katsuki was so proud of his husband his heart was filled with joy as he watched his husband smile.

The red head smiled back as he walked over to Katsuki "I did it" he had tears running down my cheeks.

"Of course you did baby" The blonde smiler rubbing his husbands back. "Do you want a break? We can stop for a bit" he looked dover to the physiotherapist for an approval.

When Ejirou had lost his leg a couple of months ago his mental health got worse, he had always struggled but this really did not help, the doctors had referred him to a amputee support group, it helped alot because he knew he wasn't alone and other people had gone through the same.

Slowly but surely, Kirishima began to make amazing progress. He started to regain his strength and his confidence, and he even started to go out in public again, something that had seemed impossible just a few weeks before.

As they were sitting on the couch in their apartment, Kirishima turned to Bakugou and took his hand. "Thank you," he said softly. "For everything."

Bakugou smiled. "You don't have to thank me. I love you, and I'll always be here for you."

Kirishima leaned in and kissed him, and Bakugou felt like everything was going to be okay. They had been through a lot, but they had come out the other side, stronger than ever.

As they sat there together, Bakugou knew that there would be more challenges to come. They were both heroes, after all, and danger was always lurking around the corner. But he also knew that they could face anything together, as long as they had each other.

"You know," Kirishima said, breaking the silence. "I was thinking. Maybe I could start training again. I might not be able to use one of my legs, but I can still be a hero."

The blonde felt a surge of pride in his husband's determination. "Of course you can," he said. "You're a hero, Kirishima. Nothing can stop you."

And with that, they both knew that they were ready for whatever the future held. They were dynariot, partners in every sense of the word, and together, they could overcome anything.
