Chapter 30

You have arrived at the party that the liyue qixing invited you. As expected it was a rather fancy party as you can see the decorations and foods are well made.

Just then the liyue qixing turned their looks on you and the tianquan as they all smiled.

"Ah the tianquan have arrived!"

One of them said as they approached the tianquan and greeted them. They encircled the tianquan talking about stuff that involves their nation which you felt left out as you decided to go to the table.

You went to get some wine and took a few bites of the food on the table. Suddenly someone went to the food table as well which you didn't pay heed first as you took the glass of wine when suddenly someone's hand lean in to get it as well as they accidentally touch your hand.

"Ara~ my apologies"

You turn to your side to see a woman. She had light emerald eyes and dark blue hair with asymmetrical bangs that are lighter at the tip of it.

You notice she didn't retract her hands and was still holding yours to which you decided to retract yours and just took a different glass of wine.

"Hmm~ your a quiet person, not I was expecting to the tianquan's first suitress"

You looked at her as she was giving you a smile. It seems she wants to talk to you since she still kept talking even though you didn't pay heeds to her earlier.

"Why? Does every of her former suitors has been rather talkative?"

"Oh so you do speak, I was beginning to think that you can't possibly talk because you're too quiet and not to mention ignoring me~"

"...I deeply apologize for that as I am not used to talk to strangers"

"Is that so? Even though you came from snezhnaya, I thought people that came from there likes to associate with other people?"

"They associate if it's business"

"Hmm~ so you're one of the people who only speaks to strangers when they want to associate business?"

"You could say that"

You took the glass bottle of wine as you were about to pour it when you saw a hand gently grab your wrist as you turn to face the mysterious woman again.

"Then how come you talked to me? Did you assume I was hear to talk business? Or.."

She somehow lean close to your ears as she made you lean down for a bit for her to reach your ear.

"You found me interesting to talk to~?"

She whispered as you can feel the smirk on her face somehow as you just looked at her quite suspiciously as you then lean back up.

"I guess your working for the qixing?"

You change the subject as she looked at you for a sec before deciding to speak.

"Mhm, I work for the ministry of civil affairs which is a government organization under the liyue qixing"

"I see"

You pour your glass of wine as she was still looking at you.

"How about you? What can I know about you, tianquan's suitress"

"I'm sure you heard a lot about me already"

You said and put back the bottle of wine on the table as you looked at her.

"Rumours fly fast to liyue after all"

"Hmm~ is all the rumours true though?"

"Some of them might, you just need to know which one is true"

You smiled as you turn your back to her and decided to go back to ningguang.

"Shouldn't we introduce ourselves before you leave me here all alone?"

She said as you turn around to look at her.

"The names yelan, pleasure to meet you, tianquan's suitress. may I know your name?"

"F/n...my name"

You said as you started walking away as yelan just watched you quietly as you went back to the tianquan.

She had her usual smirk on her face as she slid her fingers on her chin and thought for a moment.

"F/n...so mysterious yet so fascinating..."

She said as her eyes didn't leave you as she examined you more and was lost in thoughts while keeping her smirk.

"You had my attention f/n, let's see what you are hiding among that beautifully handsome face of yours~"

"What dark secrets do you hold behind those fascinating eyes of yours I wonder?

She mumbled to herself as she just watched you quietly on the corner as she was now holding the glass of wine that you first want to take when she held your hand on purpose to get your attention since she got interested in you already.

As expected you didn't give her any details about you to which made her more eager to dig information to know more about you.

Although that's not the only reason why she was interested as she kept that smirk of hers and look at you one last time before deciding to walk away from the food table.
