Aditi's breathing deepened a little. "There is a guard there. I don't know his name. He took her to the surgery room or something like that. I saw them when I was passing through the hall. I thought maybe she needed it. But I haven't seen her since then"

Teju and I looked at each other with fearful eyes. The scene was familiar because the same thing had happened to Nikita. If this can happen with Riya then we will definitely be next, Teju or me. I didn't know exactly what Riya was to us. a friend? An ally? Just another patient? No, she was not just a patient, she was much more than that. She was very nice and innocent. "It's my fault" I whispered but Laddoo heard it. She placed her hand on mine.

"No it's not. you didn't-"

"Yes it is" I interrupted hee. "When I went to tell D'Souza to change your guard. I told her about Riya" I looked at my lap, not wanting to make eye contact with her.

"What?" Aditi almost screamed.

"Yes, I told her about Aman and what he did to Riya. And I don't know why, but I think that's what made Mrs. D'Souza to take this step"

"It doesn't make any sense. Why would she do that?" Teju retorted.

"Who knows, maybe she was afraid that Riya would spread this news everywhere. That's why she just cut her off" I said.

"You had no idea D'Souza was going to do this. You were just trying to protect me Sunny. You did the right thing" Laddoo's words took some of the burden off my shoulders and I nodded to him. "At the same time, we don't know for sure that she's dead" She said.

"Wait died?" Aditi asked a little too loudly and for a moment we forgot that she was there.

"She's been missing for two days. Where else could she be?" I asked

"Maybe he is still in that room. Maybe he is alive" Teju said with hope.

I took in a heavy breath. " No baby. i don't think so" Tejasswi had some faith and hope in this situation and people which I admire.

"Do you think they did it because they knew we were trying to escape?" Teju whispered as her eyes were scared.

"I don't think so they know what we are doing" I said to reassure her and she nodded giving a sign of relief but her shoulders slumped. She sat within herself as if something was troubling her.

"What?" i asked

"Nothing" she said still distracted.

"Tejasswi tell me"

"I just- This is about Riya. Not about us. I should not bring this up"

"Say it anyway" I said and looked at me with her big eyes. "Well, I mean why doesn't Mrs. D'Souza do to us what she did to Riya? We are the ones creating the problems, why not put us in surgery instead?" she asked worriedly. "The thought of erasing Nikita's name from the hospital records had been on my mind since the day Nikita went missing"

"Don't worry about that. That D'Souza can never kill us. We are widely known. Everyone knows who I am. I am the famous Karan Kundrra who murdered three women. And you, everyone in this hospital knows who are you, all the staff and patients too. So if we magically disappeared one day like Nikita did. People might get suspicious" I explained to her. She nodded and calmed down by this thought.

"Umm I am sorry to ruin your little chatting but what are you talking about?" Aditi asked us. "Are you saying that the warden killed Riya? And she is trying to kill you too?"

I looked at Teju expectantly but she nudged me with her elbow. So it was clear that I would be the one explaining the freaking story. So I told her the whole story of Nikita. Tests and surgeries but I didn't tell her anything about our story with D'Souza and Kunal.

"Holy shit" She gasped when I finished. "It's crazy they can't do that"

"They can" I disagreed. "I mean, what can we do to stop it? Can we?" I asked

"I don't know but we have to do something. Like go to the police or guards"

"They're all involved" Aditi huffed and leaned back in her chair.
