The flight back to the tower set your body on alert. There was no doubt that you would end up running into Jessica at the tower. You didn't know how you would react to seeing her again. Would you gouge her eyes out, rip her hair out of her scalp, punch her until her face caved in? Bucky felt your body tense beside him. He squeezed your hand reassuringly and rubbed his thumb over the back of your hand. He hoped you weren't reconsidering your decision.

Steve walked off the plane once the ramp descended, but Bucky held you back. You looked up at him with a furrowed brow. He grasped your chin between his index finger and thumb. Warm lips pressed to yours and you sighed in contentment.

"I love you." Bucky's words fluttered across your lips. He released your chin and reached for your hand, guiding you to the jet exit.

"I was thinking, we should share a room." Bucky said nonchalantly.

You stopped in your tracks at his words. You had discussed sharing a room with him about six months into your relationship, but you thought it was too soon. When things started getting bad between you two, you were glad that you hadn't shared a room.

"W-what?"

Bucky looked down at you with a twinkle in his eyes.

"I want to fall asleep with you in my arms, Y/n, and I want your face to be the first thing I see in the morning. So, will you move into my room, doll?"

You weren't sure what to say to him. You were back at the tower to give your relationship another shot and there was no going back now, but this seemed like a big deal.

"I don't know, Bucky. It seems a little fast."

"We were together for a year. I think it's the logical next step."

"Yeah, but we haven't been together for four months. Plus, the last three months of our relationship weren't great. What if it happens again." You said softly, vocalizing your fears for the first time since you decided to come back to the tower.

"It won't, I promise. I just—I want to take this step with you and show you that I'm serious about our relationship this time. I want it to be you and me, working towards our happily ever after."

His eyes dropped and his voice was so low it was almost inaudible. Your hand reached up to his cheek, making him look at you again. He looked like a sad puppy and you felt a little bad, but just a little. What the hell, you had already decided to give him one last chance, why not add sharing a room to the list.

"I'll move into your room with you, but only if you're sure that it's what you want. If you have any doubts..."

"No doubts, none at all! I've never been so sure about anything in my life." Bucky interrupted. "I want this, doll. I want all of it." He looked down at you lovingly as he spoke and you couldn't explain it, but you believed every word he said.

"Then lead the way." You grinned.

Waking up next to Bucky was nothing new to you, but it felt different now. Something had shifted between the two of you. During the last three months of your relationship, you could feel things were changing and you couldn't figure out why. You devoted yourself to being the best girlfriend you could be, but it didn't seem to be enough. You felt lonely even when you were with Bucky, but you tried to hide it, choosing instead to act as if everything was okay. When you were together, he seemed like the same Bucky you had fallen in love with. Then you'd remember how he'd act when he was with Jessica and that was all you could think about. In the end, hiding your feelings only made things worse.

The morning after your return from DC, you woke up to Bucky's arm slung over your waist and his hard body molded to yours. He had left no space between your bodies as he had pulled you to him the night before and you fell asleep listening to him talk about all the plans he had for your life together. Soft snores came from behind you as you adjusted yourself to peek over your shoulder to take in the dark haired man clinging to your body. His long lashes were splayed over his cheeks and a small smile played on his lips. The relaxed expression made him look more content than ever and, honestly, made your heart melt a little. His eyes fluttered open and immediately found yours. His smile turned into a full on grin and his arm tightened around your waist.
