Bucky was nervous and fidgety as he paced the bedroom. It was an hour until the ceremony and he couldn't stop his mind from racing. There was still time for you to change your mind or something to go disastrously wrong. It was hard to find companies willing to provide services on Christmas Eve. That was the time most people were with their families or finishing last minute preparations. By some miracle, but mostly Tony throwing his weight around, the ceremony and reception had come together without a hitch. But nothing in Bucky's life had ever worked out perfectly and he was anxiously waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Bucky was taking another walk around the room when Steve walked in with a big smile on his face as he looked at Bucky in his tux. A small box was in his hand along with an envelope. Steve already had his tux on, the deep red vest and bow tie matching perfectly with your Christmas theme. He pulled Bucky into a hug and patted his back.
"Never thought I'd see you in a tux, pal. You look good."
"Thanks. What's that?" Bucky pointed to the envelope and box.
"Ah, the box has Y/n's wedding band, which I will be keeping safe." He said, slipping it into his pocket. "And this is a letter from Y/n."
"A letter?" Bucky asked anxiously.
This had to be something bad. He could feel it. He was going to open that letter and it was going to say that you couldn't marry him, that you didn't really love him.
"Yep. She figured you'd be nervous, so she wanted to give you a little encouragement." Steve held the envelope out and Bucky took it hesitantly.
His finger slipped underneath the fold of the envelope and opened it. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, he unfolded the paper and began silently reading.
Bucky,
I know you're probably waiting for something to derail our wedding, but I want you to let those fears go. The wedding cake could topple over, our guests could never show, and the compound could be burning to the ground. But as long as you're willing to marry me, I will still stand in front of you today and become your wife. I love you and I have no doubts about my decision to become Mrs. Barnes. Please don't worry about things we can't control. I love you.
Y/n
Bucky smiled down at the letter and felt all the tension slip from his body. It was replaced by an anxious excitement that buzzed through every single one of his nerves. He stood up and looked at Steve with a broad grin.
"Did you see her in her dress?" Bucky asked and Steve nodded. "How did she look?"
"Well, I'm not giving anything away, but you have one beautiful bride, Buck. You're a lucky man."
"I know." Bucky whispered and looked back down at your letter before tucking it in his back pocket.
"Come on. We need to head down for pre-wedding pictures. Let's go get you married, pal."

"Why couldn't we have just eloped?" You grumbled as Nat made last minute touch ups to your hair.
"Because you and Bucky deserve a proper wedding." Wanda said.
Nat, Yelena, and Wanda all wore floor length, deep red, off the shoulder dresses as they moved around the room gathering everything you needed before the ceremony. Yelena was finding your something old and something new, while Wanda was busy finding your something borrowed and something blue.
Yelena handed you a brand new hair clip to pin your curls back. She then handed you a pair of diamond teardrop earrings.
"This can count as your something borrowed and something old. They belonged to Melina's mother. She gave them to me for my eighteenth birthday."
