Different Worlds Pt. 8

You landed on the field looking around at the destruction. Smoke hung in the air and blocked most of the light from the sun, casting an eerie glow around the compound and surrounding area. Steve and Thor tumbled out of the building behind you and flanked you. Thanos was sitting in the middle of the wreckage, waiting. He stood as he saw you and smirked.

"Cap, Thor. Are you ready?" You said with a deadly lilt in your voice.

"Ready." They said in unison.

You approached Thanos slowly, your powers swirling around your hands and eyes glowing bright red.

"You must be Y/n." Thanos looked you up and down.

"How do you know who I am?" You scowled.

"I have ears everywhere. I've heard whispers about a girl from another world destined to defeat me. You don't look very intimidating." He chuckled.

"Don't underestimate me."

"You could join me. I could give you everything you desire if you fight with me."

"The only thing I desire, you can't give me. My brother is gone because of you." You hissed.

"Your brother was collateral damage, Y/n. It was nothing personal." Thanos reasoned.

"My brother was not collateral damage! His death is your fault!"

You threw a blast of energy at him, forcing him to take a step back.

"Is that all the power you have?" He chuckled again.

"You haven't seen power yet, you big, bald, ball sack." A sinister smirk spread across your lips. "Cap! Thor! Now!"

Steve launched his shield at Thanos which was followed quickly by a bolt of lightning from Stormbreaker. Thor threw Mjölnir immediately, hitting Thanos in the face. Thanos knocked Steve back into you, causing you both to tumble down an embankment and attacked Thor. They fought until Thanos gained the upper hand and forced Stormbreaker to Thor's chest. Mjölnir flew into Thanos, knocking him to the ground as Steve caught the hammer in his hand.

"I knew it!" Thor said.

Steve attacked Thanos using his shield and Mjölnir. You gathered your power and joined in, throwing a barrage of blasts at him. You picked up large slabs of concrete and shards of steel and threw them towards him as his army rushed forward towards the compound.

"Steve! Tell them to guard the gauntlet! They need to find Bruce."

Steve nodded, yelling through his comm to get the gauntlet to Bruce. Tony had joined you now with all four of you throwing everything you had at Thanos. You seemed to have the upper hand until Thanos was able to get close enough to each man to toss them across the field, almost knocking them unconscious. His attention turned on you, but you wouldn't be as easy to disarm as the others. You were being fueled by your rage and despair at losing Dustin. You picked up another piece of rubble from the destroyed compound and launched it at the crazed asshole in front of you. Thanos growled as he avoided the jagged piece of steel you threw towards his head.

"Stop her!" He cried, drawing the attention of his army.

Several of his soldiers broke from the pack, running towards you. Steve, Tony, and Thor were back on their feet fighting off the aliens as they tried to claw their way to you. You were too focused on Thanos to notice that several had gotten past the three men until you heard a gun ring out behind you. You spun around to see dead aliens laying behind you and Bucky walking towards you, aiming at Thanos' army and pulling the trigger on his automatic rifle until it was empty. The break in your assault gave Thanos time to advance on you.
