"I don't know Steve. What if she's having second thoughts?" Bucky's voice rose in panic.

"Y/n isn't having second thoughts. You know as well as I do that once her mind is made up, it's made up. She just needs time to adjust. After the confrontation with Jessica and uprooting her life again, it's a lot to process."

Bucky and Steve paused outside the door to the gym.

"Don't pressure her to talk to you, Buck. She'll come to you when she's ready."

"What if she doesn't? I haven't given her any reason to trust me yet."

"Bucky, stop. She came back because she wants to work things out with you. If something is bothering her, she'll talk to you. Now stop worrying and let's go spar."

Bucky followed Steve into the gym and his eyes searched around the large room until he found you in the corner with one of the punching bags. The tank top you wore earlier was discarded on the floor and sweat was pouring down your face and chest. You threw a few more combinations at the bag and then grabbed your shirt from the floor and wiped the sweat from your face and chest. You turned to see Bucky staring at you, a pained expression on his face. Unsure of why he looked so upset, you walked over to him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" You reached out and touched his arm.

"You're leaving me, aren't you?" His eyes glossed over.

"What? No! Why would you think that?"

"Because of this morning. You left the kitchen so fast after what happened. And you didn't want me to come with you."

"Bucky, I'm not leaving you. I just needed some time to think about things. Four months ago I was moving to DC because I couldn't be around you and now I'm back, sharing a room with you, kissing you, thinking about..." Your voice trailed off and your mouth went dry.

"Thinking about what?" Bucky prodded.

"Doesn't matter."

"It matters to me, Y/n."

"I'm gonna go take a shower. We can talk more when you're done."

You turned on your heels and quickly walked out of the gym.

In your bathroom, you stepped under the spray of the shower feeling the hot water prick at your skin. You were no closer to figuring out what you wanted to say to Bucky than when you first entered the gym. You angrily scrubbed your body and shampooed your hair, frustrated that you didn't know how to approach the conversation. You needed to explain how he made you feel so he could understand how broken you felt when you left. You also needed an explanation on why he pulled away from you. If it was something you had done, you wanted to know.

When you were done in the shower, you wrapped a towel around your body and combed out your hair then made your way into the bedroom. Bucky was sitting on the bed leaning against the headboard with his right leg extended out on the mattress and the left hanging off the bed. Although he had seen you naked before, you felt exposed as his eyes scanned your towel clad form.

"Bucky! I thought you were sparring with Steve?"

"Couldn't focus until I talked to you. Did I do something wrong, doll? Did I make you angry or upset you in some way? Just be honest with me. I can take it." Bucky said, his left leg bouncing with nervousness.

"You didn't do anything wrong and I'm not upset with you." You sighed as you sat on the foot of the bed. "I guess I'm just having a harder time adjusting than I thought I would."

Bucky moved to sit next to you and rested his hand on your knee. You looked up at him and found him watching you intently, waiting for you to say everything you needed to.
