A/N: This is a smutty chapter, so please feel free to skip if you aren't feeling it.
Bucky checked his phone again, making sure he had the correct address. Tony had made him spend an extra three hours on the bag and in the ring when he returned to the gym, but Bucky didn't give a shit. He would've stayed as long as Tony wanted him to as long as Jack left you alone. Bucky was on cloud fucking nine as he remembered the terrified look on the asshole's face as he drove out of the parking garage.
There was a faint sound coming from your apartment as Bucky approached your door. He knocked and shifted nervously as he waited for you to answer. The door swung open and you stood in front of him in leggings and a cropped hoodie. The soft glow shining from the tv across the room was the only light in the apartment. A blanket was laying half off the couch and Bucky noticed that your eyes were half open as you leaned against the door.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up. I guess it is pretty late." Bucky said sheepishly.
"No, it's okay. Come in." You pulled the door open wider for him to enter.
Bucky walked in and waited for you to shut and lock the door before moving any further into the room. You motioned him to the couch as you took a seat and he sat on the other end, facing you.
"So, why did you want to stop by?" You tucked your legs underneath you and propped your head on your hand.
"I'm a straight to the point type of guy, so I'm going to lay it all out for you, doll. I've wanted you since the first time I set foot in your dad's gym. The day Steve introduced me to Tony and he agreed to train me, was the first day I laid eyes on you and I knew that one day you were going to be mine."
Your eyes widened and the tiredness that you felt instantly left your body. The man you thought had never paid any attention to you, was sitting in your home telling you that he wanted you. Your day had been filled with twists and turns, but this wasn't how you saw it ending.
"I know you just ended things with Jack, and I'm willing to wait for you, but I'm here when you're ready, doll."
"I'm a little speechless here, Buck. I mean, I'm flattered and I realized once I thought about everything that I'm not as broken up about Jack as people probably think I should be. I mean the guy was a horrible boyfriend for the majority of our relationship, but I'm just having trouble wrapping my mind around this." You paused and stared at the tv, not really paying attention to what was happening. Your head snapped back to Bucky and you narrowed your eyes.
"So, you're telling me I could've had you for the last year and a half instead of the jackass I was dating?"
"That's precisely what I'm telling you, Y/n."
"Then why the hell didn't you say anything? You hardly ever spoke to me, you never looked at me, nothing. You've spoken to me more in the last three months than you did over your first fifteen months training with Dad." You said exasperated.
"Doll, I looked at you, I'm just good at making people think I'm not paying attention to them. You seemed happy with Jack at first and I didn't want to ruin that for you, but I could see you growing more and more unhappy with him over the last few months."
"Bucky..." You sighed.
You had wasted so much of your time trying to make a relationship work with Jack because you thought that's what you wanted. When you met Bucky, you admired his determination and drive to become one of the best boxers in the sport. He was focused and devoted himself to putting into practice everything Tony taught him, but as he began winning matches and his success grew, he remained the same. The man sitting on your couch was the same pragmatic, humble man he was when Tony first took him under his wing.
