The house they were at, seemingly Eli's parents' house, was beautiful. It was that type of house that you rent only to throw a party, like the ones in music videos.
Walking into the place, Jessica could see balloons and decorations all over but, other than the music, it was eerily quiet. She was closely walking behind Eli, looking around and admiring every corner as they made it to the kitchen. When Eli opened the door to the backyard, Jessica thought of saying 'fuck this shit!' and running off because a group of people suddenly jumped out of nowhere and screamed 'Happy Birthday'.
What the fuck?!
Jessica stumbled back a little, surprised and unable to believe what she was seeing.
There was a huge 'Happy Birthday' backdrop hanging on the trees at the far end of the backyard. The same white, beige and blue balloons she had seen inside the house were taped on the trees, poles and chairs. There were two medium sized birthday cakes in front of the backdrop, a couple of tables here and there with food, plates and drinks, a Jell-o shots bucket and a candy cart. A fucking candy cart! There was also a pool with big balloons and the number 22 floating around.
What in the hell is going on here?!
