That evening, River drove Jessica home since Eli said he needed to go somewhere and, for some odd reason, he even took Kylo with him. River, Nadia and Payton had said that Jessica should talk to Eli, which she was definitely planning to do. They told her to sit down with him and just talk it out and try her best to explain how she felt and why she acted the way she did.
Obviously, River didn't mean it in a conventional way. He said that sucking Eli's dick while texting him an apology would be a good idea since Jessica wouldn't be able to talk. River's arms were left with red marks as the 3 girls slapped him until they were dropped off.
When Jessica got home, Eli wasn't there. She wanted to talk to him that night, when whatever she wanted to say was still fresh in her mind. But the next morning, when she woke up on the couch where she had been waiting, there was still no sign of him. Or for a full week, even.
She asked River to drive her to college during that following week, which he had no problem doing. As Jessica, River, Nadia and Payton walked into the lecture hall, they found Eli already seated in their usual spot.
"You're early today" Nadia said. He looked up and smiled at the four students as they sat down next to him.
"Yeah, it's been a mad week..." he sighed.
"What's up?" River asked and Eli shrugged.
"Nothing... Kylo just likes being a headache" Eli replied.
Oh hell naw, don't badmouth my baby!
"Maybe you should have left him with me, then..." Jessica mumbled. Eli glared at her, which she missed because she was looking for something in her bag.
"What you say?" Eli asked Jessica. She looked at him and saw one of his brows quirked up as if he was challenging her.
"Nothing that concerns you" Jessica shot back, also quirking a brow up.
They stared at each other for quite some time, making the rest of the group feel uncomfortable and out of place.
"Okay, y'all are not about to do that in here" Payton broke their eye contact and looked to her right, where Jessica was, and then to her, where Eli was.
Something made Jessica feel entitled to bicker with Eli lately but, every time she did it, she immediately felt bad. It was just the way he looked at and talked to her that Thursday morning that ticked her off. It was also the fact that he had teased her the week before and never even said anything else to her after that.
For the rest of the day, as well as on Friday, the two didn't exchange words, not even when they unfortunately had been paired up in one of their lectures. The work they were given was supposed to be a discussion between the pair but Eli and Jessica just scribbled their points on the assignment sheet and kept silent.
The rest of the group wasn't very happy about their situation and, as they walked to the parking lot, Payton turned to them and frowned.
"I don't like when you two fight, it's awkward and unnecessary. Talk it out during the weekend and don't even think about coming near us until y'alls issues are settled" she said.
Eli didn't say anything.
"Yeah, sure... River, take me home, please" Jessica mumbled.
"Hell naw!" he refused, stopping her from walking towards his car. Jessica glared at him but River just pointed towards Eli's car and gave Jessica a stern look. "Eli will take you home. You go ahead and have a blessed weekend, now..."
"River..." Jessica warned.
"Jessica..." River mimicked her.
