The next day, Luca woke up thinking about what had happened the last few days. He had lost his cousin for something stupid, while his wife was raped because Mila was having a meltdown over something she would never have. If that wasn't enough, he discovered he could have a little sister his father cared not to tell him about. However, today, he would learn the truth as he slowly rolled over, thinking about holding his wife in his arms only to learn she was missing. Instead, Teddy's big ass was taking up her spot. Half of the time, he hated the dogs, they were always in their bed and no matter how much he fuss they did want they wanted which made Luca want to push him out of his bed. Today, he ignored him and left him alone, then went into the bathroom and showered.
The whole time, Luca could only think about the young girl in his home who could possibly be his little sister. Either way, Gabriella was a child, and if what she said was true, she had nowhere to go. Therefore, Luca couldn't see himself shipping her back to the States even if the test proved her wrong. The question then would be if they could trust her. Luca knew he shouldn't be questioning his father, plus he could see it in Gabby's face. They had many similarities to Axel, which pissed him off more. Luca wanted to know why his father would hide something like this. He understood Penelope, but Gabby was different. Plus, he didn't believe Penelope was Axel's daughter, and something about the woman caused Luca not to trust her.
For one, they looked nothing alike, and she had no features of their father. Axel knew this, and Luca could see how he acknowledged her. He didn't believe it either. Plus, he was starting to pull together the pieces with what he had learned, he could see his father didn't love the woman he called his wife. Now, it had Luca questioning if she was his birth mother like he claimed. It was time for Luca to take things into his own hands, but it would have to be another day. Today, he needed to make sure the girl in his home was actually related to him. They needed this to be behind them so they could focus on finding Mila and the man she brought into his home to harm his wife and kill his cousin. There was no time for anything else, causing Luca to quickly shower and do his morning routine before getting dressed. After, he hurried towards the door, only to find his father standing in the hallway on the other side.
"What do you want?"
"To apologize—"
"Say that again. I think I may have misheard you. Did The Great Axel Köhler just say he wanted to apologize? Or is my hearing gone bad?" Luca spoke, turning to his father with a smirk. Of course, the man rolled his eyes as he walked into his room and sat in the chair by the door as he shut it. "You don't have to be such a jackass about it. I'm sorry; are you happy now? In my mind, it was best if you didn't know each other. I was wrong and therefore I apologize, but she is your sister—"
"Since you are being so truthful. Tell me about Penelope. When were you planning to tell me about her?" He asked, making Axel go silent, sitting back in his seat as he normally did when he had to think about something. "Penelope is a hard story to tell, but long story short... she isn't my daughter. Your mother was already pregnant with her before we married."
"Dad, when will you drop this act and tell me the full story? I don't know who you think you are fooling. I understand you wanted to protect me, but I'm grown and can very well protect myself now. Tell the truth before I go searching for it. I know you're hiding something, and I know the woman you claim to be my mother isn't. This is my life we are talking about, and I'm in the fucking dark." Luca sighed, taking a seat at the foot of the bed. He wanted to be mad, but in reality, Luca was confused about the situation.
"Truly, I'm not angry with you, Dad. I know you had your reasons. Just remember, I'm not the same little boy that needed his father's protection. Consider that much before you think about lying your way out of this and Gabby... That happened sixteen years ago, and as you state every day as a reminder, you're the Dad, and I'm the child. Still, this is fucked up. She's your child, and I don't give a fuck what her mother wanted. What if your enemies found out about her? What would you have done with her being in the States while you were well-guarded in Germany? Do you have any more children I need to know about?"
