Sometime later, Luca was awoken by Blu licking him in the face, causing him to quickly jump from his sleep and scan his surroundings, forgetting he was in one of the guest rooms, but that wasn't the issue. Adele was missing, and it caused Luca to panic. He immediately jumped from searching the room for his wife while the dogs stared at him like he was crazy. His wife went through something dramatic and shouldn't be wondering about the house alone, especially when she was emotional about losing Liam. The stress wasn't good for her or the babies, and he feared harm would come to her if she got too upset, causing him to turn to their dogs.

"Boys, where did your mama go?" Luca knew asking the dogs sounded crazy, but they understood and listened better than some of his men and especially better than his cousins. However, the dogs ran to the door scratching, telling him Adele had left the room. Still, he didn't understand why she left her beasts with him. They were her dogs, a gift from him and his father, and if he had it his way, they would be out the door the others, but every time he turned around, even they were in his house. Adele babied them, and now they were soft when they were supposed to be guard dogs. It made him ask himself why he let Erik and his dad talk him into buying the two big fur balls in the first place. Luca was looking for two small dogs, then Erik suggested Australian Shepherds, and the next thing he knew, his father was having him write a check.

There was nothing he could do about it now. Teddy and Blu were a part of their family, and Luca couldn't lie; He loved the big fur balls. It was why he allowed them in the house and followed them as they led him to Adele sitting at the kitchen island eating a pint of ice cream while she talked to his grandmother and father at two-forty in the morning. He was amazed to see her smiling after everything she's been through. It showed Luca how strong she was. Adele focused on the good, allowing her to push past the bad.

"I understand why my wife is sitting here at two something in the morning eating... but you two. What are your reasons?"

"Stop asking questions and come sit with us, son," Axel replied as his grandmother held out her hand. Seeing his dad and grandmother sitting in the same place, smiling and laughing, was weird, especially when Luca threatened to kill her two days ago. Still, he could feel the tension between the two, but they played it off well. Maybe Adele was the cause, or they were trying to make amends.

"If you were hungry, Schatz, you could have woke me."

"You and the dogs were sleeping peacefully. I didn't want to wake you. I wanted ice cream, your grandma was already here reading a book, and Axel was sneaking back in the front door. From where I have no idea, and he won't tell. It wasn't anything new before Luca moved out of his father's home. The man left late and returned before the sun was up. He swore it was a woman in their home most of the time, but Axel would never admit it.

"I believe your Dad has a girlfriend...."

"Adele, I don't do girlfriends. Plus, my business is not your business..."

"Son, are you still messing with that beautiful Nigerian—"

"Mother!" Axel yelled as Sibylla smiled wickedly while his father nearly choked on his ice cream, making her laugh. "Oh, I didn't know she was still a secret. You know, telling the truth won't hurt a thing. If you ask me, it's time...."

"Well, I didn't ask you. I know what I'm doing, Mother."

"Sure, you do...."

"To cut down the tension. I know for a fact my Dad doesn't do girlfriends. He has hoes because he's one."

"And from what I remember, ugly ones as that. I swear you fucked the ugliest little bitches until he met Luca's Mother. Be glad your Mother stood out to him... Lord, I tell you, she's a fucking beauty." Sibylla laughed while Axel turned red. Either he was pissed or embarrassed.
